Job Title: Operator 1

Department: Operations

Reports to: Production Supervisor

Supervises: No

Grade: 8

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Information

  • Operator 1 is responsible for Sort & Pack Operations including lessor skilled work than that of Labor Grade 5 on the shop floor in compliance with IATF 16949 Standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for continuous operation of machinery in order to eliminate any unnecessary downtime.
  • Able to troubleshoot manufacturing issues in order to maintain quality standards.
  • Able to operate all mobile equipment.
  • May be Responsible for material handling, overhead cranes, and pulling racks from chambers.
  • Must be able to measure parts using micrometers, calipers, and other similar devices.
  • Responsible for sorting, packaging, gluing and dumping scrap.
  • Responsible to complete all paperwork, documentation, and BPCS transactions accurately and on- time.
  • Responsible to assist in general housekeeping of the department.
  • Responsible to adhere to all company safety policies and procedures while also maintaining a safe work environment at all times.
  • Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.

Qualification Requirements

Educational/Training Requirement:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Manufacturing experience a plus.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • N/A

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Highly motivated
  • Strong time management and priorities management skills
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Excel. BPCS experience a plus.
  • Ability to interact with vendors and internal customers
  • Metrics driven
