We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented SOP Analyst – Finance to join our Finance organization in Querétaro, Mexico. This role combines business process documentation, process improvement, governance, and financial operations support to help drive standardization, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across Finance and cross-functional processes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, documenting, optimizing, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) while partnering with Finance leaders and key stakeholders to identify process improvement opportunities, strengthen controls, and support business decision-making through process and data analysis.

This position offers strong visibility within the Finance organization and provides an excellent career path toward broader Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Business Analysis, Process Excellence, or Finance Transformation roles.

Key Responsibilities

Process Documentation & Governance

  • Develop, document, and maintain Finance-related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, workflows, and process maps.

  • Ensure business processes are accurately documented, standardized, and aligned with organizational objectives.

  • Conduct periodic reviews and updates of SOPs to reflect business, system, regulatory, or organizational changes.

  • Support compliance efforts by ensuring procedures align with internal controls, governance requirements, and company policies.

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Analyze current Finance and business processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, risks, and automation opportunities.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to redesign and optimize workflows that improve effectiveness, consistency, and scalability.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence methodologies.

  • Track process improvement projects and communicate results and business impact to leadership.

Financial & Business Analysis

  • Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, performance drivers, risks, and opportunities.

  • Support the development of reports, dashboards, and performance metrics for Finance leadership.

  • Interpret data and communicate findings that support strategic and operational decision-making.

  • Assist in identifying opportunities for cost optimization, productivity improvements, and process enhancements.

  • Provide analytical support for both recurring and ad hoc business initiatives.

Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with Finance, Accounting, Shared Services, Operations, and other business functions to gather requirements and validate processes.

  • Facilitate process reviews, stakeholder discussions, and alignment workshops.

  • Act as a liaison between process owners, business leaders, and support functions to ensure successful implementation of procedural improvements.

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

1–2 years of experience in one or more of the following areas

  • Process Documentation

  • SOP Development

  • Financial Analysis

  • Business Process Management (BPM)

  • Shared Services

  • Continuous Improvement

  • Finance Operations

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, pivot tables, lookups, and reporting.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

High attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting Finance, Accounting, FP&A, Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Record-to-Report, or Shared Service environments.

  • Knowledge of process mapping tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, Signavio, or similar.

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence initiatives.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.

  • Experience building dashboards and reports using Power BI or other analytics tools.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate combines the structured mindset of a Process Analyst with the analytical capabilities of a Finance professional. They are comfortable documenting complex business processes, analyzing financial and operational data, identifying opportunities for improvement, and presenting insights to stakeholders and leadership teams.

This individual is naturally curious, data-driven, collaborative, and motivated to contribute to Finance transformation and business process excellence initiatives.

Success Measures

Within the first 12 months, the successful candidate will:

  • Establish and improve SOP documentation across key Finance processes.

  • Increase process consistency, documentation quality, and governance compliance.

  • Identify and implement measurable process improvement opportunities.

  • Deliver actionable business and financial insights through analysis and reporting.

  • Build strong partnerships with Finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Contribute to Finance transformation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives.
