**ARDMS registered technologist with proficiency in principles, practices and techniques of ultrasound procedures. **

  • Part-Time (.8) FTE; 32 hours per week
  • Work every Weekend - Night Shift
  • Includes: (2) Evening Shift weekdays

  • Locations: LUMC- Medical Center

About the job

In this role the Ultrasound Technologist, under the general supervision of an attending radiologist, and in accordance with department protocols, the ultra-sonographer utilizes high frequency sound waves and other diagnostic techniques to produce and evaluate ultrasound images and related data which is used by physicians in rendering a medical diagnosis resulting in quality patient care. Will supports General Ultrasound.

What you'll do

  • Performs and demonstrates competence in ultrasonic scanning procedures by producing, assessing and evaluating ultrasound images and related data that are used by physicians to render a medical diagnosis.
  • Recognizing, identifying and appropriately documenting normal anatomy, abnormalities, disease, pathology and pathophysiology for accurate medical diagnosis.
  • Performing all types of ultrasound procedures and services, in accordance with department protocol, to ensure appropriate patient care for patients in all age categories (neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric).
  • Completing ultrasonic scans within given procedure time parameters when performing ultrasonic scans so as to expedite patient care.

Here is what you'll need

Required:

  • Associate Degree; g raduate from an accredited two-year Ultrasound Program, required; OR equivalent training acquired via work experience
  • Specific Degree(s): AMA approved Sonography program;
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) approved school of Ultrasound Technology
  • Less than one year of previous job-related experience
  • New Graduates- 9-month ultrasound coursework experience including clinical rotation
  • M ust be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization

Licensure/Certifications

Required:

  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) from American Heart Association ONLY
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)-Specialization in Abdomen, Ob/Gyn or PS
  • Other: New Graduate obtain certification within 3 months of hire

  • Registration within 3 months of hire, in a minimum of one to two specialties of either Abdomen and/or Obstetrics & Gynecology required.

Pay Range: $39.00 - 59.00 per hour

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
