About the role


Responsible for provision of technical support to customer, sales & operations in the form of detailed Engineering analysis and design, feasibility study and solutions offering to support growth of repairs, spares, upgrades and retrofits of Centrifugal Compressors and Expanders.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert and manage engineering requests associated to tendering and project execution for Turbo-machinery Services in the region.
  • Conduct site equipment inspection, root cause analysis and technical forums to support sales team to identify repairs, upgrades and retrofit opportunities
  • Challenge traditional Sulzer thinking to ensure we remain ahead of the competition without taking excessive risk
  • Review Technical specifications, provide comments/exceptions, input Technical know-how as required to ensure proposals are technically fit for purpose
  • Identify and document areas of technical risk and level of design review associated with Projects at an early Tender stage
  • Liaise with oversea Sulzer competence centers, specialist functions (e.g. Aero, welding, rotor-dynamic, C&I, etc) and key sub-contractors to clarify client requirements and ensure technical aspects have been adequately addressed
  • Consolidate technical offer and associated technical documentation (e.g. data sheets, calculations, technical bid assessment questionnaires) as necessary to satisfy client's Tender requirements
  • Provide an Engineering presence, when required, on customer visits, for assessment, bid clarification, client kick off meetings, project execution etc
  • Lead and coordinate the different engineering resources associated to the project for the execution on-time and on budget
  • Review ITP, inspection reports, and closing report to ensure upmost quality of the work and deliverables
  • Develop guidelines, procedures and work instructions to support continuous improvement of quality of Compressor and Expander Services in Oceania
  • Be part of the large Sulzer Services specialist and experts community and Support development of Turbine Services capabilities in the Asia region to support the business growth strategy
  • All other duties as relevant to the post

Qualifications/Experience Required

  • Bachelor or Master in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5 years minimum experience in service of Centrifugal Compressors and/or Expanders
  • Experience in Oil &Gas, Fertilizers and Petrochemical industry
  • Design and drafting skills
  • General computer skills
  • Analytical skills
