How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Within the ALAM Engineering team, the Solutions Development (SD) Manager will support the design and industrialization of solutions required for the implementation of our molecules strategies and contribute to the “Shift Left” initiative. Working under the guidance of the SD Director, the Manager will collaborate with teams to develop efficient manufacturing solution/s in terms of Safety, quality, reliability and Competitiveness (TCO). This includes supporting the integration of required technologies associated with the production process. The solution development will be done in coordination with stakeholders including the Process Development Team, Operations team, and external vendors, with the objective of facilitating an efficient time-to-market delivery.

The SD Manager will participate in cross-functional efforts to meet business needs, ensuring:
Safety, Quality and Reliability standards are maintained.
Support for the definition of project execution strategies, cost sheets, and schedules.
Alignment of business objectives with technology and engineering options.
Effective communication between ALAM and external partners.
Rigorous execution of project plans.
Reporting to the Solutions Development Director, this role requires the application of technical skills to help create project offerings that meet business objectives. The incumbent will assist in the coordination of project development from Pre-FEED through FEED and project approval.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate the solution development process

  • Review and clarify Project Objectives with stakeholders.

  • Develop solutions comparison tables to facilitate the selection of the solution with the other stakeholders.

  • Establish project scope of work aligned with the various stakeholders (operations, site, process engineering, mechanical engineering, product management)

  • Establish project cost estimates and proceed with proper estimate approval.

  • Provide initial project schedule assumptions in alignment with project management representatives.

  • Perform initial risk evaluation process through the Preliminary Risk Identification (PRI) and Project Risk Assessment (PRA).

  • Is accountable for the project development including the approval process and up to handover to the project teams.

  • Support the Project Controls team in preparing the investment review documentation (CPR and RIC).

  • Ensuring safety, quality, and operational excellence of developed solutions via diligent technology selection and process design.

  • Contributing to continuous improvement in safety, reliability, cost, quality, and productivity.

  • Proactively manage engineering projects by establishing collaborative ties across organizations early in the development phase, enabling the identification and anticipation of challenges before they impact project execution

  • Applying a quantitative, fact-based approach to decision-making and problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.

  • 5-7 years in an engineering or technology development environment.

  • Experience in an industry where product contamination control is a key parameter (semiconductor, pharma, etc.).

  • Experience in technology solution development.

  • Experience in coordinating projects or small teams.

  • Experience in the manufacture or use of ultra-high purity materials.
