Position Type: Full TimeThe Solutions Delivery Manager is responsible for directing the planning, coordination, and integration of departmental efforts to ensure that automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS) and material handling solutions meet expected functionality and performance standards. This role works closely with clients during system commissioning, manages projects across the Solutions Delivery department, and serves as a primary liaison between Westfalia and its customers throughout the delivery lifecycle. The Solutions Delivery Manager upholds Westfalia’s reputation for excellence by ensuring clients receive the full value promised during the sales process.
Essential Job Functions:
- Directs the planning, organization, development, and integration of efforts across all relevant departments to ensure that systems meet their expected functionalities and performance from the outset.
- Defines Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) for Westfalia systems to verify full compliance with specifications and commitments made to clients during the sales process.
- Develops and manages commissioning plans in collaboration with clients and internal teams; coordinates training for customer operators and maintenance personnel.
- Serves as the primary point of contact during system commissioning, maintaining client expectations and keeping clients, management, and stakeholders informed of project status and relevant activities.
- Manages projects as required to meet departmental workload demands and support the broader Project Management team.
- Operates with a high degree of autonomy, following company processes and procedures while providing inclusive and collaborative leadership to all project stakeholders.
- Strengthens Westfalia’s reputation by taking ownership of deliverables, honoring commitments, cultivating respectful client relationships, and identifying opportunities to add value to customer investments.
- Ensures customers receive the value promised during the sales cycle and works proactively with clients to maximize satisfaction and support Westfalia’s positive standing in the marketplace.
- Travels to customer sites for execution, inspection, and coordination as project needs require.
QualificationsRequired Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of systems engineering principles and demonstrated ability to define and conduct Site Acceptance Tests (SATs).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, internal teams, and diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to provide strategic direction, motivate cross-functional teams, and make sound independent decisions.
- Ability to build and maintain positive, long-term relationships with clients to ensure ongoing satisfaction and trust.
- Strong project planning, resource management, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities.
- Ability to coordinate complex project elements including commissioning schedules, training programs, and logistics.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to verify that all project aspects meet promised specifications and performance standards.
- Effective task prioritization and time management skills to consistently meet project deadlines.
Education/
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Systems Engineering preferred.
- 7 or more years of relevant experience managing projects in material handling, warehouse automation, AS/RS, or related industries, with direct accountability for project performance.
- Experience with system commissioning, client-facing project delivery, and managing cross-functional teams required.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management credential preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish or German is a plus.
Work Environment:
- Office environment involves collaboration with internal engineering, project management, and sales teams; includes virtual meetings, documentation preparation, and project planning activities.
- On-site work may take place in warehouses, manufacturing plants, or automated material-handling environments; requires close coordination with clients, technicians, and engineering teams during system commissioning and testing.
- The role frequently involves managing multiple priorities, interacting with diverse international stakeholders, and ensuring project activities align with Westfalia standards and customer expectations.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel to and from job sites, which may include domestic and/or international travel and extended driving.
- Ability to move safely around job sites, which may include uneven terrain, active construction areas, or elevated walking surfaces where trip hazards may be present.
- Ability to remain on one’s feet for extended periods during on-site inspections and commissioning activities.
- Ability to bend, crouch, or inspect confined areas of a job site when reviewing system installations.
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, dust, humidity, or refrigerated spaces, depending on client site requirements.
Travel Requirements:
- This position requires travel approximately 30% of the time to domestic and/or international client sites. The frequency and duration of travel varies based on project complexity and execution phase.
