Job Description
Do you like helping hi-tech and semiconductor companies solve their most complex technical challenges? Would you like to do this using the latest cloud computing technologies including GenAI and agentic AI? Do you have a passion for enabling chip designers and product engineers to innovate faster and more efficiently through cloud modernization?
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing accounts to enterprise-level customers. This is an on-site position requiring regular presence at AWS offices and customer locations to deliver hands-on technical engagement and build strong customer relationships.
As a Solutions Architect on the Hi-Tech & Semiconductor team, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build mind share and broad use of AWS services — including compute, storage, networking, analytics, AI/ML, Generative AI, and HPC — within hi-tech and semiconductor accounts pursuing cloud modernization and digital transformation.
You will be the bridge between our customers' most complex computational challenges and AWS's most advanced cloud infrastructure capabilities. You will own the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects, with a strong focus on:
Cloud Modernization & Infrastructure Optimization: Helping customers modernize their infrastructure, optimize compute-intensive and memory-intensive workloads, and transition to cloud-native architectures
Compute-Intensive Workload Architecture: Architecting scalable solutions for demanding engineering workloads — including frontend design (RTL, synthesis, simulation), backend design (place and route, timing closure, signoff), CAE/CAD product engineering, and HPC orchestration
GenAI & Agentic AI Adoption: Driving customer outcomes with generative AI solutions — from AI-assisted chip design and verification to intelligent automation across hi-tech product development
Customer Expansion: Accelerating cloud adoption through technical excellence, outcome-driven engagement, and industry-specific reference architectures
The ideal candidate will possess customer-facing skills that allow you to represent AWS well within a customer's environment and drive discussions with senior personnel, as well as a technical background that enables you to easily interact and give guidance to chip designers, software developers, IT architects, and C-level executives on digital transformation strategies.
Key job responsibilities
Serve as the key technical advisor for semiconductor customers, enabling them to build best-practice architectures and accelerate innovation on the AWS platform
Scope each customer engagement with attention towards clear and well-defined objectives, success criteria, and measurable business outcomes
Own each technical enablement — from Well-Architected Reviews to proof-of-concept builds — and ensure timely and successful delivery of value
Capture and share best-practice knowledge through reference architectures, white papers, blog posts, and industry events
A day in the life
As a Solutions Architect on the Hi-Tech & Semiconductor team, you'll drive customer success through technical excellence and strategic guidance. You might start your morning conducting a Well-Architected Review for a fabless customer's infrastructure, addressing high-performance shared storage, license management, and data security challenges. After lunch, you'll lead an Immersion Day workshop on GenAI-assisted design optimization for an engineering team, then whiteboard a burst-compute architecture for memory-intensive workloads with a foundry's IT leaders. You'll close the day collaborating with cross-functional teams on expanding a customer's cloud footprint and accelerating their digital transformation initiatives. Your work spans from technical deep-dives with design teams to executive-level strategy discussions — directly impacting how the next generation of technology products are designed, verified, and manufactured.
