The Solution Architect will serve as the technical design authority responsible for defining, aligning, and governing the architectural blueprint that supports data quality, remediation, and AI enablement activities under the ICE LESA Data Quality Improvement Support Services contract. This role ensures that all solutions—spanning data pipelines, AI/ML integrations, automation workflows, analytics tooling, dashboards, and system enhancements—are scalable, compliant, secure, and aligned with ICE mission needs. The Solution Architect collaborates closely with data engineers, AI strategists, developers, analysts, and law enforcement SMEs to ensure technical solutions adhere to DHS/ICE privacy, security, and records management requirements while enabling consistent, reliable delivery across all Error Response Teams (ERTs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead technical authority for solution architecture across all data quality, remediation, automation, and AI enabled efforts.
  • Translate DET root cause analysis into scalable solution designs, integrating rules based fixes, remediation approaches, AI capabilities, workflow changes, and field driven requirements.
  • Develop and maintain architectural standards, models, patterns, and reference designs to guide consistent implementation across ERTs.
  • Oversee the technical integration of data pipelines, automation scripts, AI/ML models, dashboards, and validation tools used in DET remediation.
  • Ensure all technical solutions comply with DHS privacy, security, and records management requirements.
  • Provide design review leadership during CARE lifecycle phases, validating feasibility, scalability, dependencies, security requirements, and long term sustainability.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, AI Strategists, Developers, Law Enforcement SMEs, and Quality teams to ensure solutions align with operational workflows and system realities.
  • Identify opportunities for workflow improvements, system enhancements, and enterprise level architectural changes to prevent recurrence of data errors.
  • Assess impacts of proposed system or process changes on data architecture, integrations, or downstream reporting.
  • Support development of training datasets, remediation logic, and validation practices for AI enabled solutions.
  • Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation including sequence diagrams, architecture briefs, system mappings, interface specifications, and implementation guidance.
  • Provide technical leadership during backlog refinement, helping prioritize DETs based on system dependencies, feasibility, and architectural considerations.
  • Monitor emerging technologies and recommend updates to architectural frameworks, toolsets, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in solution architecture, systems design, data architecture, or enterprise integration in complex technical environments.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), ETL/ELT pipelines, microservices, REST APIs, and security focused architectures.
  • Experience supporting data centric operational systems, ideally within law enforcement or other mission critical government environments.
  • Proficiency with modern data and development toolsets (SQL, Python, Databricks, UiPath, Spark, Git, CI/CD pipelines, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills and experience briefing both technical and executive level stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to document architectures, manage system dependencies, design workflows, and lead cross functional technical workstreams.
  • Experience working within DHS, ICE, or similar environments is highly preferred.
