Your Role

As our Solution Sales Engineer in Japan, you will serve as the technical architect behind our sales efforts, driving the adoption of PlaxidityX’s Vehicle Detection & Response (VDR) solutions. You will bridge the gap between complex automotive architectures and our cutting-edge security platform, helping Japanese OEMs and Tier-1s visualize the value of true, future-proof vehicle cybersecurity. Working alongside the sales team, you will ensure our technology, combining in-vehicle agents with a powerful cloud core, is perfectly matched to customer needs to protect drivers and manufacturers from evolving cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Technical Engagement: Own the technical side of the sales cycle for Japanese accounts. Engage potential and existing customers with high-impact technical presentations, live product demonstrations, and workshops to clearly articulate the unique value of PlaxidityX solutions.
  • Solution Design & Architecture: Analyze customer vehicle architectures (ECUs, CAN, Ethernet), future concepts, and SOC requirements to propose security solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing OEM and Tier-1 processes.
  • Drive Proof of Concepts (PoC): Plan and execute Proof of Concepts, managing the technical scope and success criteria to prove the platform’s capabilities in customer environments.
  • Trusted Technical Advisor: Build intimacy with technical decision-makers and architects within customer organizations, identifying their pain points and anticipating future requirements before they arise.
  • RFI/RFP Management: Lead the technical acquisition process, managing responses to Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposals (RFP) to ensure accurate and competitive technical positioning.
  • Bridge to Product & HQ: Act as the technical voice of the Japanese market. Work closely with Product and Services teams in Israel to communicate local customer needs, regulatory requirements (UN R155/R156), and KPIs to influence the product roadmap.
  • Seamless Transition: Ensure a smooth and professional handover of signed projects from the Sales phase to the Projects and Delivery teams for implementation.

Requirements

  • Experience 5+ years of experience in the automotive industry, specifically in electrical architecture, software development, or design-related aspects.
  • Education Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Automotive Protocols: Deep familiarity with CAN, Ethernet, and standard automotive communication protocols.
  • Cybersecurity & Standards:
  • Strong understanding of UN R155 (CSMS) and UN R156 (SUMS) regulations.
  • Knowledge of JASPAR (Japan Automotive Software Platform and Architecture) standards, particularly regarding cybersecurity, OTA, and in-vehicle networks.
  • Experience with TARA (Threat Analysis & Risk Assessment) and automotive security frameworks.
  • VDR & Cloud: Experience with SaaS, cloud technologies, and AI for cybersecurity. Familiarity with Vehicle SOC (vSOC) operations and SIEM integration is highly desirable.
  • Customer Facing Skills: Business-oriented with excellent presentation skills (technical workshops, demos) and the ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products against the competition.
  • Communication: Fluent in Japanese and English. Strong analytical, communication, and storytelling skills.
  • Independence: Strong self-management and learning skills, with the ability to learn technical topics in-depth.
  • Travel Willingness to travel to customer offices in Japan

Nice to Have

  • Strong technical knowledge of operating system internals, embedded systems, and network protocols.
  • Knowledge of Linux, QNX, or Android operating systems.
  • Background in automotive cybersecurity, IoT, or safety-critical systems.
  • Experience engaging with global OEM and Tier-1 stakeholders.
