
The Solution Owner for Software Distribution and Compliance is responsible for the technical design, operational management, and continuous improvement of Nokia’s end user software distribution ecosystem. This includes ownership of the End User Software Catalogue, software packaging standards, deployment design, and ensuring that all software across the endpoint estate meets licensing, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements.
This is a technically oriented role within the End User Services team. The successful candidate will combine hands-on expertise in software packaging, deployment technologies, and catalogue management with a strong understanding of software asset management and compliance. He/she will work closely with IT Procurement, Security, endpoint management teams, and external service providers to deliver a reliable, automated, and compliant software supply chain for Nokia’s global workforce.
Own and manage the Nokia End User Software Catalogue, including application lifecycle management, onboarding/offboarding of software titles, and catalogue governance.
Define and enforce software packaging standards and best practices; oversee the packaging pipeline for Windows, Mac, and Linux applications (MSI, MSIX, App-V, DMG, PKG, DEB/RPM).
Design and maintain the software deployment architecture across Nokia’s endpoint estate, leveraging technologies such as Microsoft Intune, SCCM.
Own the end-to-end software compliance lifecycle, including license tracking, usage metering, audit readiness, and remediation.
Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements across all platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux, mobile); collaborate with IT Procurement and Legal on enterprise agreement management.
Define and implement automated workflows for software request, approval, deployment, and reclamation to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
Monitor and report on software distribution and compliance KPIs; proactively identify and resolve non-compliance risks and deployment failures.
Act as the subject matter expert for software distribution and compliance within the Digital Workplace organization.
Support internal and external software audits, ensuring timely and accurate data provision.
Drive continuous improvement in packaging, deployment, and compliance processes through automation, tooling, and adoption of modern application management patterns.
Work with service delivery teams and external providers to ensure quality and consistency in software packaging and deployment operations.
Professional Experience:
5+ years of IT experience in software distribution, software packaging, endpoint management, or IT operations in an enterprise environment.
Hands-on experience with software packaging technologies and formats (MSI, MSIX, App-V, SCCM task sequences, Intune Win32 app deployment).
Proven experience designing and managing enterprise software catalogues and self-service portals.
Experience with software asset management tools (e.g., ServiceNow SAM, Flexera) and their integration into deployment workflows.
Experience working in a complex, multi-vendor IT environment within a global enterprise.
Knowledge:
Deep technical knowledge of endpoint management platforms: Microsoft Intune, SCCM/MECM, and their software deployment capabilities (required applications, available apps, Win32 apps, line-of-business apps).
Understanding of modern application management patterns: MSIX, Windows Package Manager, Autopilot provisioning, and cloud-native deployment.
Good understanding of Cyber Security and data protection requirements as they relate to software compliance and endpoint hardening.
Knowledge of ITIL processes, particularly in the context of IT asset management, change management, and release management.
Familiarity with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, or similar) for packaging and deployment workflows.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
