Job Description

As a Solutions Engineer, you'll own the technical pre-sales cycle for an assigned set of commercial and mid-market accounts, working independently from first discovery through technical close. You'll partner with account executives to translate customer requirements into validated solutions, helping customers understand how Keepit's SaaS data protection platform fits their environment.

About the role

You will:

Discovery and solution design

• Lead technical discovery with prospects and customers to understand environment, requirements, and success criteria.
• Design and present tailored solutions that map Keepit's platform to customer business and technical requirements.

Demonstration and validation

• Deliver engaging, independent product demonstrations, both virtual and in person.
• Own the design and execution of proof of concepts (POCs), managing scope, timeline, and success criteria through to closure.
• Respond to technical objections with accurate, brand-safe positioning, including competitive comparisons.

Proposal and close support

• Contribute technical content to RFIs, RFQs, and formal proposals.
• Partner with account executives to build and defend the technical case through negotiation and close.

Sales and partner collaboration

• Maintain accurate Salesforce documentation across the full opportunity lifecycle.
• Support lead-generation activities, including events, webinars, and user groups.
• Build working relationships with MSPs, resellers, and technical stakeholders relevant to assigned accounts.

Product and process feedback

• Relay customer feedback, technical objections, and feature requests to product management.
• Contribute improvement ideas to SE playbooks, demo scripts, and enablement materials.

About you

Must-haves:

• 3+ years of experience in sales engineering, technical pre-sales, or a comparable customer-facing technical role.
• Proven ability to independently run a full technical sales cycle, from discovery through close.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft ecosystem (Microsoft 365, Azure, Power Platform) or comparable SaaS and cloud platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities concurrently.
• Ability to translate technical detail into business value through clear communication.
• Consultative, solution-oriented approach to selling.
• Collaborative approach to working with sales and channel teams.

Nice-to-haves:

• Working knowledge of MEDDIC, MEDPICC, or a comparable sales methodology.
• Experience with SaaS applications such as Salesforce, Jira, Okta, or Zendesk.
• Familiarity with backup and recovery, cybersecurity, or data protection concepts.
