Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will join ABB's Industrial Automation Digital Organization as a Software Engineer – Full Stack Development & DevOps. You will develop and enhance enterprise-grade applications deployed across on-premises and Microsoft Azure cloud environments, contributing across the complete software development lifecycle. Working closely with Product Owners, Solution Architects, Global R&D, and cross-functional engineering teams, you will build scalable, secure, and high-performing software solutions while driving DevOps automation and cloud-native engineering practices.

This role is contributing to the Industrial Automation – Software Development & Digital Analytics organization in Bangalore, India.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack enterprise applications using modern .NET technologies, Angular, REST APIs, and cloud-native engineering practices to deliver secure and high-quality software solutions.
• Build and enhance DevOps capabilities by implementing CI/CD pipelines, release automation, deployment processes, and cloud-native application lifecycle management across Azure and hybrid environments.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Solution Architects, Global R&D, and cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end software solutions while ensuring application scalability, performance, and operational reliability.
• Contribute throughout the complete software development lifecycle by following engineering best practices, maintaining technical documentation, participating in code reviews, and driving continuous improvements in software quality and platform capabilities.

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 4–8 years of experience in full-stack software development, DevOps, or platform engineering within enterprise or industrial software environments.
• Strong expertise in C#, .NET Framework/.NET Core, ASP.NET Web APIs, Entity Framework Core, and frontend development using Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, and Bootstrap.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, Docker, Kubernetes, Service Fabric, and cloud-native application deployment.
• Experience in building RESTful APIs, microservices, relational databases, and scalable enterprise applications, with exposure to visualization libraries such as D3.js or Highcharts being an advantage.
• Good understanding of software engineering best practices, Agile methodologies, application lifecycle management, performance optimization, and secure software development.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across global engineering and customer-facing teams.
