Job Description

Leidos is seeking an experienced Solution Architect with Threat Sensors experience to help develop advanced sensing, Electronic Warfare (EW), SATCOM, and cyber-resilient mission solutions supporting defense and national security customers. In this role, you’ll work closely with customers, engineers, program leadership, and business development teams to solve complex operational challenges across multi-domain mission environments.

You’ll help shape technical strategies, architect integrated mission solutions, and communicate the operational value of Leidos technologies to customers and stakeholders. This role combines deep technical expertise with customer engagement and solution development, supporting everything from white papers and proposals to rapid prototyping and mission demonstrations.

We’re looking for someone with strong experience in RF systems, signal processing, embedded systems, cybersecurity, and advanced sensing technologies who can translate mission needs into executable technical solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Architect integrated sensing, EW, SATCOM, and cyber mission solutions.
  • Develop end-to-end system architectures spanning hardware, software, networking, embedded processing, and mission applications.
  • Lead requirements analysis, trade studies, mission analysis, interface definition, and performance assessments.
  • Develop technical roadmaps and future capability strategies for sensing and mission systems.
  • Support resilient communications, contested spectrum operations, interference mitigation, and dynamic spectrum management solutions.
  • Define and integrate EW capabilities including signal detection, geolocation, electronic support, and electronic attack support functions.
  • Support advanced signal processing, RF analytics, machine learning, and threat identification capabilities.
  • Ensure solutions align with cybersecurity, zero-trust, RMF, NIST, and DoD security requirements.
  • Support IRAD, rapid prototyping, system integration, field testing, and demonstrations.
  • Collaborate with customers and mission stakeholders to identify operational gaps and develop innovative mission solutions.
  • Support captures by developing and presenting technical proposals, white papers, and customer briefs.
  • Contribute to program planning, cost estimation, and risk management activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field with 15+ years of relevant experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 17+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience supporting DoD, Intelligence Community, aerospace, or national security programs.
  • Experience with advanced RF, SATCOM, EW, ISR, or sensing systems.
  • Strong understanding of signal processing, communications systems, embedded systems, and real-time processing architectures.
  • Experience developing or integrating algorithms using MATLAB, Simulink, Python, C++, or similar tools.
  • Experience supporting prototype development, systems integration, field testing, and operational demonstrations.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, resilient architectures, and secure system design.
  • Strong communication skills with experience presenting technical concepts to customers, leadership, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience supporting technical proposals, captures, or customer-facing solution development.
  • U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related technical field.
  • Experience with SDRs, FPGA development, GPU acceleration, or edge processing technologies.
  • Familiarity with EW operations, contested spectrum environments, and advanced sensing technologies.
  • Experience with AI/ML-enabled sensing, autonomous systems, or advanced analytics for threat detection and classification.
  • Experience with distributed systems, cloud-enabled architectures, containerization, or cloud-to-edge mission environments.
  • Understanding of formal risk management and cost estimation processes.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance preferred.
