Job Description

As a Team Lead Solution Architect, you will lead a team of Solution Architects across multiple domains, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and robust solutions aligned to business needs.

You will combine technical leadership, people leadership, and hands-on architectural guidance, acting as a “player-coach” to your team. You will be accountable for solution quality, consistency, and execution across your domains, while supporting strategic direction set by senior architecture leadership.

This role is critical in bridging architecture strategy and delivery execution, ensuring that solutions are not only well-designed but also successfully implemented.

What you will be doing:

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4–6 Solution Architects across multiple domains
  • Set clear expectations, goals, and standards for architectural excellence
  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Provide coaching and hands-on support to architects in complex problem-solving
  • Drive consistency in ways of working, tools, and architectural practices

Solution Ownership & Delivery

  • Oversee the end-to-end solution architecture across 3–6 domains
  • Ensure solutions are aligned with business objectives and delivered to a high standard
  • Support and guide architects in defining:
  • Solution designs
  • System interactions
  • Non-functional requirements (performance, scalability, security)
  • Act as escalation point for complex architectural challenges

Architecture Governance & Quality

  • Ensure adherence to architectural standards, principles, and best practices
  • Review and approve solution designs where required
  • Drive consistency and reuse across domains
  • Identify and manage technical debt, risks, and trade-offs
  • Support governance processes and ensure solutions are fit-for-purpose and compliant

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with engineering teams, product managers, and delivery leads
  • Translate business needs into clear architectural direction
  • Communicate solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Build strong working relationships across mid-level stakeholders

Strategy Alignment

  • Support Lead Architects / Head of Architecture in executing technology strategy and roadmaps
  • Contribute domain-level insights to inform strategic decisions
  • Ensure alignment between long-term architecture vision and short-term delivery

Hands-on Contribution

  • Remain technically engaged, contributing to solution design for complex or critical initiatives
  • Lead key design workshops and architecture discussions
  • Provide deep technical input where needed

Requirements

Who we are looking for:

  • Proven experience as a Solution Architect (5+ years) in high-scale, complex environments
  • Experience leading or mentoring architects or senior engineers
  • Strong experience designing scalable, high-performance, distributed systems
  • Deep understanding of:
  • Cloud platforms (preferably AWS)
  • Microservices and event-driven architectures
  • APIs, integrations, and data flows
  • Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to balance technical depth with leadership responsibilities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
