Job Description

Leidos is seeking an experienced Solution Architect with Radar Systems experience to join our Defense Sensors Business Area, supporting advanced radar and sensing solutions for national security missions. Our teams design, develop, and integrate multi-spectral sensing technologies that deliver mission-critical capabilities across air defense, counter-UAS, and open-air radar applications.

In this role, you will collaborate with customers, engineering teams, program leadership, and business development organizations to architect innovative, mission-focused solutions for complex operational challenges. You will help shape technical strategies, develop solution roadmaps, support proposals and white papers, and communicate the value of Leidos technologies to customers and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in radar systems, RF technologies, tracking and detection architectures, and integrated mission operations with strong customer engagement and solution development skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze mission needs and customer requirements to develop advanced radar and sensing solutions.
  • Architect end-to-end radar systems integrating sensors, C2 systems, communications, processing, and mission applications.
  • Lead trade studies, requirements analysis, interface definition, performance assessments, and architectural modeling efforts.
  • Develop technical roadmaps and future capability strategies for radar and sensing systems.
  • Support integration of radar technologies into operational mission and battle management environments.
  • Support IRAD, rapid prototyping, system integration, and demonstration activities.
  • Assess system performance and operational test results to refine architectures and improve capabilities.
  • Collaborate with customers and mission stakeholders to identify operational gaps and innovative solutions.
  • Support captures by developing and presenting technical proposals, white papers, and customer briefs.
  • Communicate technical concepts and mission solutions to customers, leadership, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Support program planning, cost estimation, risk assessments, and execution activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related technical field with 12+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with radar systems, RF sensing technologies, or air defense systems.
  • Strong understanding of radar principles, RF systems, tracking and detection algorithms, and mission processing.
  • Experience supporting complex systems integration and operational mission environments.
  • Familiarity with C2 systems, integrated sensing architectures, and distributed mission operations.
  • Experience supporting technical proposals, captures, or customer-facing solution development.
  • U.S. citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a related technical discipline.
  • Experience supporting DoD, missile defense, counter-UAS, or national security programs.
  • Experience with phased array radar, multi-sensor fusion, distributed sensing, or advanced tracking technologies.
  • Familiarity with MBSE, digital engineering, or systems modeling tools.
  • Experience with AI/ML-enabled sensing, tracking, or sensor management capabilities.
  • Experience supporting rapid prototyping, field demonstrations, or operational experimentation.
  • Understanding of formal risk management and cost estimation processes.
  • Active Top Secret clearance.
