Within the Japan & South Korea Operating Unit (JKOU), Coke ON is a unique digital asset in the global Coca-Cola system: Japan's proprietary consumer loyalty platformoperatingon the world's highest-density vending machine network, with approximately 11 million monthly active users. JKOU is transforming Coke ON from a vending loyalty app into an omnichannel consumer engagement platform — personalizing rewards and content at the individual user level, expanding loyalty beyond vending, gamifying the experience, and building brand-led communities. This transformation makes Coke ON both a significant growth engine and a critical point of differentiation for JKOU's business performance.

The Director, Solution Architect owns the architectural vision and standards for the Coke ON platform, including API design, non-functional requirements, and security principles, and sets the technical direction that enables the platform's next phase of growth. The role is the senior technical authority ensuring solutions are scalable, resilient, aligned with enterprise standards, and capable of supporting future business capabilities.

As the platform transforms to support one-to-one personalization, omnichannel expansion, and gamified experiences, the role provides the architectural blueprint and governance that allow the platform to scale in capability and volume without compromising reliability, security, or cost — and represents Coke ON's architecture in enterprise-wide governance and standards forums.

Responsibilities include

  • Own and evolve the target architecture and architectural standards for the Coke ON platform across mobile, backend, data, and integration layers.

  • Set and govern API design standards, non-functional requirements, and security principles for the platform.

  • Approve solution designs for new features and platform changes, ensuring scalability, resilience, and enterprise alignment.

  • Lead the platform modernization and re-architecture agenda in partnership withdeliveryleadership and global architecture teams.

  • Evaluate technology choices, vendor solutions, and emerging capabilities (including AI-enabled services) for platform fit.

  • Ensure architectural decisions balance business capability needs, cost, security, and time-to-market.

  • Build architectural capability across the organization throughmentoring ofengineering teams and vendor partners.

  • Represent Coke ON's architecture in enterprise and global architecture governance and standards forums.

Organizational Impact

  • Sets the technical direction and scalability strategy for JKOU's flagship consumer platform through its transformation.

  • Serves as the senior technical authority aligning local platform architecture with enterprise standards and the global digital ecosystem.

  • Balances architectural purity with pragmatic delivery needs in a fast-moving product environment.

  • Serves as the senior voice on architectural decisions and trade-offs todeliveryleadership, business stakeholders, and executive audiences.

  • Influences and negotiates with global architecture and security stakeholders to shape platform standards.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in solution or platform architecture, including consumer-scale mobile/web platforms.

  • Deepexpertisein cloud architecture, API design, security principles, and non-functional requirements.

  • Experience guiding platform modernization or re-architecture programs.

  • Familiarity with data platforms, personalization engines, and AI-enabled services preferred.

  • Track recordofrepresentingarchitecture decisions to senior/executive stakeholders and cross-functional governance bodies.

  • Business-level Englishrequired; Japaneseproficiencypreferred.
