Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a Solution Architect for Altium Agile Teams to join our organization. This role is ideal for someone who deeply understands engineering workflows and Altium technologies and wants to help mid-market and small enterprise customers deploy and optimize the Altium Agile Platform and related PLM capabilities. Rather than large enterprise transformations, this role focuses on practical, hands‑on implementation, configuration, and lightweight customization - helping customers adopt best practices, improve collaboration, and streamline their electronics design processes. You will partner closely with customers, Professional Services engineers, Sales, and Product teams to ensure successful deployments and ongoing adoption.

A Day in the Life of an Agile Teams Solution Architect

Solution Implementation & Configuration

  • Assist in the deployment and configuration of the Altium Agile Platform for mid-market customers, including libraries, roles/permissions, data management, and design workflows.
  • Analyze customer engineering workflows and help translate them into practical system configurations.
  • Assist with lightweight PLM practices: lifecycles, revision schemes, BOM structure, and change processes.

Customer Collaboration

  • Work directly with customers to understand their environment, challenges, and priorities
  • Provide hands‑on guidance to engineering teams implementing Altium tools for the first time or scaling their use.

Product & Ecosystem Expertise

  • Learn and maintain a strong working knowledge of Altium 365, Altium Designer, the Altium Agile Platform, and related integrations.
  • Help customers adopt new features, recommended practices, and updated workflows.

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

  • Investigate workflow issues, configuration problems, or data structure inconsistencies.
  • Escalate complex technical matters to senior architects or R&D when appropriate.

Project Delivery & Documentation

  • Participate in the creation of mini‑SOWs or scoped implementation plans for team‑level customers.
  • Document configurations, templates, instructions, and repeatable best‑practice deployments.
  • Assist with data migration activities such as libraries, components, and project structures.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with Professional Services engineers on integrations or advanced technical tasks.
  • Coordinate with Product and R&D teams to communicate customer feedback and feature gaps.

Qualifications

Who You Are — Qualifications and Skills, Education, & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or related technical field — or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in solutions consulting, technical support, PCB design, CAD administration, or engineering process roles.
  • Experience with Altium Designer or Altium 365 is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to PLM concepts (lifecycles, BOMs, change management) in an engineering environment.

Technical Skills

  • Working knowledge of ECAD workflows, libraries, project structures, data management.
  • Understanding of cloud systems, permissions, integrations, and engineering collaboration tools.
  • Basic familiarity with PLM concepts and how they apply to small engineering teams.
  • Ability to document processes, configurations, and user guides clearly and concisely.

Soft Skills

  • Strong problem‑solving abilities and willingness to explore technical challenges.
  • Customer‑centric communication style with the ability to explain technical concepts simply.
  • Ability to manage time across several small customer engagements.
  • Team‑oriented mindset and eagerness to learn from senior architects and engineers.

Other Requirements

  • Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites for workshops or deployments.
