Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a Solution Architect to support a large-scale application modernisation and cloud migration programme focused on transforming key business services. This role is responsible for designing and governing end-to-end technical solutions that accelerate the adoption of modern technology stacks, public cloud platforms, and contemporary delivery practices while reducing technical debt. The successful candidate will lead solution design throughout the project lifecycle, provide technical leadership, and ensure successful delivery into Live Service.

What you will do:

• Own application modernisation initiatives within the overall programme.
• Lead solution design and architecture throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain solution architecture documentation and technical artefacts.
• Ensure architectural designs comply with governance standards and established best practices.
• Collaborate with Agile development teams and delivery architects during all phases of solution delivery.
• Evaluate technical challenges and define appropriate solution approaches.
• Guide application modernisation and public cloud migration activities.
• Support technical governance from solution design through implementation into Live Service.
• Ensure solution delivery aligns with agreed technical specifications and business requirements.
• Own technical problem management and drive issue resolution throughout solution development.
• Build trusted relationships with clients and senior stakeholders by providing strategic technical guidance.
• Collaborate with vendors, third-party partners, and internal technical teams to ensure successful solution delivery.
• Contribute technical expertise to commercial proposals and architectural planning activities where required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect delivering enterprise-scale technology solutions.
• Experience leading application modernisation and public cloud migration programmes.
• Strong understanding of solution architecture principles, governance, and end-to-end solution delivery.
• Experience working with Agile development teams and delivery architects throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Experience designing solutions using public and private cloud technologies.
• Experience working with legacy technologies and integrating them into modern cloud-based ecosystems.
• Knowledge of AWS, Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, Helm, Java, JavaScript, Oracle, and MySQL is advantageous.
• Experience leading technical decision-making and resolving complex architectural challenges.
• Ability to engage confidently with senior technical and business stakeholders.
• Experience managing technical relationships with vendors and third-party partners.
• Strong understanding of modern software delivery methodologies and cloud-native architectures.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to balance technical excellence with business objectives while ensuring successful solution delivery.
