Job Description

This is a remote position.

We are seeking a Senior Technical Lead / Solution Architect to define the end-to-end target architecture for a large-scale enterprise data platform. The role will lead the design of data integration, data engineering, and analytics solutions, set technical standards across the team, and ensure delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performance data products. The architect will work closely with senior business and technology stakeholders, oversee multiple delivery squads, and own the technical quality of the program.

Architecture & Solution Design

Define the end-to-end target architecture for the data platform, covering ingestion, integration, storage, processing, governance, and consumption layers

Translate business and analytical requirements into scalable, modular, and reusable solution designs

Select appropriate patterns (data lake, lakehouse, data warehouse, event-driven, batch/streaming) and reference technologies

Define non-functional requirements (performance, availability, security, scalability) and ensure they are met

Technical Leadership

Provide technical leadership across data integration engineers, data engineers, data scientists, and developers

Set engineering standards, coding guidelines, design review processes, and architecture governance

Mentor senior and mid-level engineers and unblock complex technical issues

Lead architecture review boards and technical design walkthroughs with internal and external stakeholders

Stakeholder & Delivery Management

Partner with business stakeholders, program leadership, and enterprise architects to align technical direction with business outcomes

Estimate effort, identify risks, and define delivery roadmaps for technical workstreams

Drive vendor and tool evaluations; lead proof-of-concepts and technology selection

Governance & Quality

Ensure the architecture complies with enterprise security, data governance, and regulatory requirements

Own technical quality across environments and enforce DevOps, DataOps, and CI/CD best practices

Maintain solution architecture documents, decision logs, and reference architectures

Requirements

Technical

6–10+ years of experience in data and integration architecture, including hands-on engineering background

Deep expertise in modern data platforms, including:

◦

Cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake, or equivalent)

◦

Data lake / lakehouse / data warehouse design patterns

◦

Streaming and batch architectures (Kafka, Spark, Flink, etc.)

Strong experience designing:

◦

ETL/ELT and data integration pipelines

◦

Master data and reference data solutions

◦

Analytics and reporting layers

Solid understanding of data modeling (3NF, dimensional, data vault) and metadata management

Experience with API-led integration, microservices, and event-driven design

Hands-on familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and DataOps tooling

Industry / Domain (Highly Preferred)

Experience delivering data platforms in mining, metals, heavy industry, oil & gas, utilities, or other large industrial sectors is a strong plus

Exposure to operational technology (OT) data, sensor / IoT data, ERP (SAP) integration, and supply chain analytics is highly valued

Prior delivery experience in the GCC or Saudi Arabia is an advantage

Governance & Compliance Awareness

Strong understanding of data governance, data lineage, and master data management

Familiarity with data privacy, classification, and regulatory requirements (including local data residency considerations)

Experience embedding security-by-design and audit-ready controls into data platforms

Soft Skills

Excellent communication and stakeholder management at executive level

Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving

Ability to lead distributed, multi-vendor delivery teams

Comfortable operating in high-pressure transformation environments

Education & Certifications

Preferred:

Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or related field

Cloud architecture certifications (AWS / Azure / GCP) are a strong advantage

TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification is a plus

Additional Requirements

Onsite presence in Riyadh required

Experience working in large enterprise or government transformation programs

Ability to operate in a multi-vendor delivery ecosystem
