Solution Architect - Retail & Supply Chain
MECCA has a large and growing focus in the core technology landscape, and we are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join our Supply Chain & Retail team, based in our Support Centre in Richmond.
This role will have a primary focus on Supply Chain and Retail Systems, while supporting broader domains including People Systems and Merchandising.
The role ensures that organisational transformation is aligned with MECCA’s architecture strategy, business priorities, and enterprise standards, enabling scalable, secure, and efficient operations across critical platforms. Acting as a key connector between strategy and delivery, this role brings clarity to complex problems, translating business needs into thoughtful, fit-for-purpose solutions that support both current operations and future growth.
Working closely with business stakeholders, delivery teams, and technology partners, the role provides architectural guidance from early planning through to implementation. The Solution Architect fosters alignment across teams, manages cross-domain dependencies, and supports delivery with clear, pragmatic direction while encouraging collaboration and shared ownership of outcomes.
This role plays an important part in evolving MECCA’s Supply Chain and Retail technology landscape—balancing standardisation, modernisation, and business agility—while contributing to a strong, inclusive, and trusted architecture practice across the organisation.
The Role You Could Play:
Strategy & Evolution
Define and own architecture direction across the Supply Chain domains, while supporting Retail and broader core technology areas.
Contribute to and shape technology roadmaps and support initiative planning, with a focus on evolving capability needs.
Ensure alignment across systems, proactively managing dependencies, impacts, tech debt and cross-domain considerations.
Provide input into business cases, options, and trade-offs to support informed decision-making.
Solution Design & Delivery Enablement
Translate business requirements into practical, scalable, and fit-for-purpose solution designs.
Partner with delivery teams throughout the solution lifecycle, providing clear and pragmatic architectural guidance.
Ensure solutions meet architecture principles, security, and data standards.
Review and validate solution designs across initiatives, ensuring consistency and quality of outcomes.
Resolve complex and cross-domain design challenges, balancing short-term needs with long-term direction.
Stakeholder Engagement & Influence
Partner with business and technology stakeholders to align solutions with priorities, particularly across Supply Chain and Retail.
Communicate architecture decisions, trade-offs, and impacts in a clear and considered way.
Work closely with project and delivery teams to ensure effective and timely architecture engagement.
Architecture Practice Improvements
Contribute to architecture standards, patterns, and reference models across while supporting continuous improvement of Architecture Practice.
CORE COMPETENCIES
Must have end-to-end experience delivering Supply Chain solutions across enterprise environments.
Strong grounding in enterprise platforms, including or adjacent to ERP, Logistics, Replenishment, Warehouse Management, and Finance.
Proven ability to contribute to and deliver large-scale business and technology transformation initiatives.
Demonstrated experience delivering solutions at scale in complex environments, with at least 5+ years in architecture or related roles.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into practical, scalable solutions.
Solid understanding of software development practices, including agile delivery, CI/CD, and modern engineering principles.
Strong knowledge of integration patterns, platform selection (RFx processes) , and enterprise system design principles.
Good understanding of security, risk, and data privacy considerations across enterprise systems.
Experience working collaboratively across cross-functional teams spanning business and technology.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Our perfect candidate
5+ years’ experience in Solution Architecture or related technology roles, with strong experience across Supply Chain and related systems.
Experience working in retail or consumer-facing organizations.
Strong understanding of integration patterns, cloud platforms, and enterprise system design principles.
Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, practical, and fit-for-purpose solutions.
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across business and technology teams.
Experience working with external vendors, system integrators, and delivery partners.
Preferred
Exposure to large-scale transformation programs (e.g. system modernisation or platform replacement) in organisations undergoing growth or transformation.
