In this role, you'll:

Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers and Solution Architects to support the design and delivery of technical solutions within a key area of the SCATS platform.

SCATS (Sydney Coordinated Adaptive Traffic System) is the world’s leading intelligent traffic management platform, powering smarter cities across more than 200 locations globally. Owned by Transport for NSW, SCATS enables road authorities to optimise traffic flow across some of the most complex transport networks in the world using advanced algorithms, real time data, and high performance software.

SCATS is now undergoing a major transformation, evolving into a modern, cloud enabled platform to capture growing global demand and unlock new commercial opportunities. This is a rare chance to join a mission critical technology organisation at a pivotal moment and help shape the future of intelligent transport at a global scale.

You will support the design and delivery of technology solutions that align with business objectives and product strategy. You will analyse business and technical requirements, translating them into clear and comprehensive solution designs, technical documentation, and interface specifications. Working closely with development teams, you will help ensure solutions are effectively understood, implemented, and maintained. You will contribute to the evaluation of technology options, providing recommendations that support informed decision-making, while ensuring solutions comply with established architecture standards, governance frameworks, and design principles. Additionally, you will play a key role in the ongoing enhancement, optimisation, and evolution of the SCATS platform and its associated applications.

About you

For you to be successful within this role you should meet with all, or most of the following criteria:

  • 3+ years' experience working in software development, application development and/or systems environments
  • Experience within solution design, systems analysis and/or technical design activities
  • Experience documenting technical solutions, system integrations and/or application enhancements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice to Haves:

  • A qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Enterprise Architecture

This is a fixed-term flexible hybrid role until 20th of November 2027 50% of your time will be office based, with 25% (5 days per month) of your time based from our offices in Sydney’s CBD This role will pay between $124,810.00 - $139,787.00 + super.
