Job Description

Starting Hourly Rate: $34.63

After hire, pay increases are dependent on length of service, advancement in the position, and other contractual factors.

This position is represented by the TEAMSTERS union. For more information reference the TEAMSTERS collective bargaining agreement: Collective Bargaining Agreements

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:30am - 2:30pm. Some Saturdays required.

Role Summary:

To develop, facilitate and assist Public Works Technicians in collection of solid waste including trash, recycling and compost side-load, rear-load and front-load operations.

Cross training in maintenance and repair of City infrastructure including Forestry, streets, water distribution, sanitary and stormwater collection systems, and grounds and facility maintenance.

Education, Training and Experience Required:

  • High school graduate or equivalent (GED)

Education, Training and Experience Preferred:

  • 2 years supervisory experience
  • 2 years experience in solid waste
  • Experience supervising union employees

Licensing Requirements:

  • Valid Driver License – be on call (field work daily is expected – average 2 hour per day)
