Summary

Duties include maintaining a safe and compliant workplace while focusing on minimizing injuries and property damage; analyzing safety trends and enforcing policies; delivering training; investigating incidents and complaints; debris management plan administration; vehicle safety inspections; and ensuring compliance with safety protocols while fostering continuous improvements in safety practices across the organization and its operations. A class B CDL is required. Preferred certifications include Smith Training Instructor, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), DOT Workzone Instructor, and CPR Instructor certification or ability to obtain withing six months from start date. Duties will require lifting up to 50 pounds frequently. A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in industrial hygiene, business administration or a related field and two years of relevant safety administration experience, preferably in the Solid Waste industry or similar environment, with a proven track record of improving workplace safety and reducing incidents required. Must be proficient with MS Excel, Access, Outlook and Word. A résumé must be submitted with application.

PAY GRADE GG22 / FULL PAY RANGE $5,634 - $7,939 PER MONTH

The department is responsible for solid waste collection and disposal services, including residential, recycling, brush and bulky waste, and special waste collection.
