Job Description

  • The Solar O&M Engineer is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing the performance of solar PV power plants. This role ensures maximum uptime and efficiency of the solar plant through proactive and corrective maintenance, performance analysis, and coordination with field teams.

Requirements

Key Accountabilities

Monitoring & Performance Management:

  • Monitor daily plant performance using SCADA or remote monitoring systems.
  • Analyze production data and KPIs like Performance Ratio (PR).
  • Detect performance anomalies and take corrective actions.
  • To support the technical daily O&M and data collection across the operational Portfolio
  • Daily check technical events, investigation and provide the correct justification and classification, in conjunction with the performance Analyst.

Maintenance Planning & Execution:

  • Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules for PV modules, inverters, and monitoring systems.
  • Conduct corrective maintenance and fault analysis to restore optimal operation.
  • Maintain records of inspections, maintenance logs, and service reports.
  • Record keeping and management of spare part movements.

Troubleshooting & Repairs:

  • Identify root causes of system failures (e.g., inverter trips, string faults)
  • Replace or repair faulty equipment (modules, DC string cable and Inverter).

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Prepare monthly O&M reports on plant availability and performance.
  • maintain the maintenance checklists and spare parts logs.
  • Ensure compliance with quality and safety documentation standards.

Health and Safety:

  • Adhere co-works safety protocol during all site activities

Qualifications:

  • Degree in the engineering field
  • 2+ years of solar technical experience.
  • Working knowledge of power system protection
  • Able to read and interpret single line diagrams and schematics
  • Demonstrated experience in the maintenance of LV and 22kV cable, DC cable systems
  • Strong written and communication skills.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Knowledge of codes and standards.
  • Knowledge of how to use hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 35 kgs
  • Willing to travel regularly including at nights
  • Must be eligible to work full time in Ireland.
  • Must have a valid permit to drive in Ireland independently
