The AES Operations team is looking for a Solar Technician with BESS andsolidtroubleshooting experience. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, anddemonstratethe ability to lead, train, andwork withother field personnel.  The position will be based in theCentral Massachusettsarea with minimal regional travel to attend tovarious siteneeds.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Travel to utility-scale solar and battery storage facilities in local region to perform preventative & correctivemaintenance

  • Perform other technical and administrative duties associated with operating andmaintaininga powerfacility

  • Coordinate and manage contractors engaged to support maintenanceactivities

  • Provide limited support for commissioningactivities

  • Lead/support warranty claims processes with vendors as needed.

  • Ensurework is performedin accordance withEnvironmental and Safety requirements.

  • Perform work independently and in teamenvironments

Desired Skills,Expertise,and Competencies:

  • Proven experience with a variety of electrical equipment and knowledge of basicIT and remote communications equipment

  • Experience withBESS (Battery Energy StorageSystems)a plus

  • Ability to prioritize and plan preventative & corrective maintenance on solar and battery storageequipment

  • Understanding general workplace safety and the ability to follow safety standards andassistingin improving existing standards.

  • Ability to excel in a collaborative, cross-functional and geographically diverseorganization

  • Pprofessionalism, and excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing

  • Self-starter, developed interpersonal skills, and a strong workethicnecessary, results oriented

  • Detail oriented with an ability to adapt to new challenges and summarize information to support key decisionmakers

  • Demonstrated ability to research/interpret technical documents anddata

  • Ability to read, write, and understandEnglish

  • Knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations

  • Demonstrates enthusiasm for solving problems and adding value to thecompany

  • Maintains a current level of professionalknowledge

  • Ability toestablishand maintain positive and professional workingrelationships

  • Supports the development of a productive work culture and resilientteam

Education / Experience

  • Technical degree or equivalent Journeyman qualifications

  • One or more years of experience as aPV (Photo Voltaic)O&M (Operations & Maintenance)solar technician

  • One (1) or more years’ experience inpower generation

  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical or mechanical fundamentals (single craft journeyman skills) such as electrical measurements, control circuits, and electrical theory application

  • Basic knowledge of operational characteristics of equipment and associated control devices installed in powerfacilities

  • OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration)10 and NFPA 70e Certifications

Working Conditions:

  • Working outside

  • Normal plant and/or office environment, including working at heights, high/low ambienttemperatures,and high/low humidityareas

  • Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, and entering plant equipment to access, inspect, or collect data on plantequipment

  • Requires use of personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hardhat,appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.)

  • May berequiredto work around energized equipment, hazardousmaterials,andchemicals

  • Occasionally requires lifting asappropriate toperform duties andresponsibilities

  • Performs other duties asassigned

  • Willingness to work overtime and respond to emergencies, asneeded
