· Manage the laboratory according to Soillab Quality Manual.
· Carry out process and quality control testing of all works submitted by the Contractor in the request books
· Control site laboratory to ensure timeous and accurate test results. Submit summaries of all tests to the Soillab Materials Technician
· Manage site laboratory personnel and control the overtime. Submit to the Soillab Materials Technician for perusal and ER for approval before sending to Soillab Pretoria.
· Keep the daily diaries on laboratory testing for reporting on the monthly EIU form as well as information for the Materials and Laboratory Report.
· Keep weather records and submit the summary with the information to ER on a weekly basis.
· Assuring the Quality of test results. Submit duplicate samples for testing with results to Soillab and SANRAL.
· Reporting and prepare all the test summaries. Submit the summaries timeously to the Soillab Materials Technician for updating the materials as-built records. List of reporting times is indicated in the quality manual.
· Maintain hard and soft copies of all materials and test records. Ensure electronic backup is done weekly, with a CD copy to the ER once a month. A CD copy to be submitted to Soillab every 3 months.
· Control the Soillab site testing vehicles and submit monthly log sheets to ER.
