A company that is building the semantic layer that makes enterprise data trustworthy for AI agents is looking for a Software Engineer/Architect. Small founding team, design partners live, your work ships.
The role
Lead backend architecture for the systems at the core of the company — services, APIs, data flows — and own the path from where the company is to real scale. You'll work directly with the founders on the technical roadmap and set the engineering bar for everyone who joins after you.
And it's bigger than the product. At this company, AI is how they operate — marketing, sales, product, CS, engineering all run on agents and workflows they built. We want someone who'll help build an AI-powered company, not just an AI product, and who brings that same mindset into how we build software.
What you'll do
Design and own the backend architecture: services, APIs, data flows, infrastructure. Build systems that are scalable, reliable, and production-ready from day one. Set the AI-first engineering standard — how the company uses agents, evals, and Claude Code in the company's own dev workflow. Improve engineering processes and performance as the company grows. Take infrastructure from pre-launch to serious scale.
What we're looking for
- Strong backend engineer with deep Python experience
- Proven track record designing architecture and complex production systems
- Experience operating at scale — you've seen what breaks and built for it
- Full ownership mindset — you don't wait for permission, you ship and you fix
- Comfortable in fast-paced, ambiguous startup environments
- AI-first builder — you use Claude Code daily, build your own skills and subagents, and bring that into how engineering operates
- Founding-team temperament: ownership, speed, judgment
Nice to have
Previous Tech Lead or Architect experience. Background in AI systems or data-heavy products. Experience with cloud, Docker, and distributed systems.
