The Software Verification Engineer (m/f/d) will lead verification activities for safety-critical Flight Controls Application Software, focusing on the platform layer that interfaces directly with hardware (e.g., device drivers, memory management, startup code). Responsibilities include executing verification tasks per DO-178C standards, producing detailed documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate has strong experience in software verification, static analysis, unit testing tools, and regulatory compliance, along with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Perform software verification activities for flight control computer software in compliance with DO-178C, primarily at Level A/B
Develop and execute verification plans, test cases, and procedures based on software requirements and design
Conduct requirements-based testing (RBT) and structural coverage analysis (MC/DC, decision, and statement coverage)
Review and analyse hand-written source code for correctness, robustness, and compliance with coding standards
Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of verification activities, including requirements review, requirements-based test, test plans, test cases, and test reports
Work closely with software developers, systems engineers, and quality assurance teams to ensure integrated and comprehensive verification processes
Assist in the qualification of software tools used in the development and verification processes as per DO-330
Support problem reporting, debugging, and resolution of software anomalies
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in software verification
University degree in aerospace engineering or similar courses of studies
5 years professional experience in aviation industry, with a focus on ARP-4754A/B, DO-178C and DO-331 standards
Experience with verification tools (e.g., VectorCAST, Polyspace, LDRA, RTRT, or Similar)
Hands-on experience writing and reviewing requirements, plans and standards in accordance with DO-178C, DO-331, as well as tool qualification process as per DO-330
Testing experience with simulations in host and target environments
Very good communication skills and ability to work in a team
