Your Role

We are seeking an experienced Software Test Engineer to join our Auckland Capgemini team, to work on innovative financial sector projects. You will be supported with a large nationwide team and local People Lead to be your best!

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Provide test engineering support for mobile applications, with a primary focus on mobile testing, browser-based UI testing, and API testing within an Agile squad.
  • Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated mobile test suites using industry-standard automation frameworks and tools.
  • Build and maintain UI automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium and Cucumber BDD, and develop API automation tests using tools such as Rest Assured and Postman.
  • Perform testing across multiple mobile devices, operating systems, and environments to ensure consistent functionality, performance, and user experience.
  • Contribute to automation strategy by evaluating, recommending, and implementing tools and practices that improve test automation coverage and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, or Groovy.
  • Collaborate with development teams using source control platforms such as GitHub and Bitbucket to support quality engineering practices.
  • Utilise tools such as JIRA and Confluence to manage testing activities, document test artefacts, and track defects and project progress.
  • Execute functional, non-functional, and exploratory testing activities to identify risks, defects, and areas for improvement.
  • Manage the end-to-end testing lifecycle, including test planning, test design, execution, defect management, and test reporting.
  • Support and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to enable continuous testing and quality assurance throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile (Scrum) environment to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Analyse complex issues, troubleshoot defects, and apply strong problem-solving skills to support timely resolution
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve testing processes, frameworks, and overall software quality.

About You

  • 5+ years of software testing experience, including 3+ years of hands-on test automation experience within Agile delivery environments.
  • Strong expertise in UI, API, and mobile test automation, with hands-on experience using tools such as Selenium, Rest Assured, XCUITest, Espresso, or similar frameworks across multiple devices and operating systems.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, JavaScript, or Groovy) and experience working with source control tools such as GitHub and Bitbucket.
  • Solid understanding of functional and non-functional testing principles, including exploratory testing, with proven ability to identify defects, assess risks, and drive quality improvements.
  • Knowledge or experience working with Cloud Platforms such as GCP, AWS etc would be advantegeous
  • Experience using Agile and collaboration tools, including JIRA and Confluence, and working effectively within cross-functional Agile teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and continuous improvement mindset, with knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps practices and the ability to evaluate and adopt tools that enhance test automation effectiveness and coverage.

    Please note: To be considered for this role, you must be located in Auckland to work a minimum of 3 days onsite (the other 2 from home or office), and hold valid NZ working rights due to security requirements.
