Mazak Corporation’s Software Development department is looking for a Software Support Technician. The Software Support Technician will be responsible for timely support of Mazak Corporation developed software products. The Software Support Technician will maintain a positive and professional attitude when interfacing with internal and external customers. They will be responsible for tracking incoming support requests through various channels and ensuring prompt responses. This position works out of our National Technology Center located in Florence, KY.
Scope and Responsibilities:
Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:
• Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
• Full life cycle support of Mazak development projects.
• Communicate effectively and calmly with a diverse group of individuals on various projects.
• Learn Mazak software options and frequently used coding languages for troubleshooting.
• Work with experienced Software Development Engineers to develop a skillset.
• Utilize task management system for tracking and completing support requests.
• Reporting monthly updates to management on inbound/completed support requests.
• Occasional travel as needed for field installation/support
Education/Certification:
• 5-years of experience in software or related field.
• An Associate’s degree in Engineering, Technical, or Computer Programming is preferred.
Skills:
• Beginner experience with most or all of the following technologies is preferred: Programmable Logic Capability, Visual Studio, Access, Microsoft Office, RS232 and Ethernet communications, Microsoft VB.NET, MS SQL Server, C++, Microsoft DevOps and GIT.
• Exposure to Mazak/Mazatrol equipment is preferred.
• Familiar with cutting tools, parts processing on machine tools and industry terms is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong presentation and documentation skills.
