Within Connected Experience, part of Volvo Cars R&D, we are responsible for developing a secure and intuitive in-car digital experience. Our mission is to simplify customers’ lives by delivering high-quality, reliable, and safe connected solutions.

We work with cutting-edge technologies, including Android-based infotainment platforms developed in close partnership with Google. Our solutions are used globally and have been widely recognized by both customers and international media.

To support our continued development, we are looking for a Software Responsible – Infotainment Hardware to join our team.

What you'll do

You will be part of a group responsible for the hardware-related software development of infotainment head units and interface components. The team leads development together with our suppliers, ensuring that deliveries meet requirements related to quality, timing, cost, safety, and cybersecurity.

This position is within the team responsible for:

  • Driver Information Module (DIM)
    Displays vehicle information such as speed and fuel level, and manages message prioritization across the instrument cluster, Head-Up Display, and Infotainment Head Unit, based on driver workload and safety principles.
  • Vehicle Gateway Module (VGM)
    Functions as a router and security gateway, enabling safe and controlled access to vehicle functions.


As a Software Responsible, your responsibilities include:

  • Owning software deliveries for production and aftermarket
  • Gathering and structuring technical requirements from stakeholders
  • Ensuring supplier alignment and scope acceptance
  • Reviewing test and validation results together with suppliers
  • Coordinating software distribution for internal testing
  • Performing functional testing and fault tracing using diagnostics
  • Documenting and releasing software according to Volvo Cars’ quality processes, using tools such as SystemWeaver and KDP

What you'll bring

You are someone who takes responsibility, enjoys collaboration, and wants to contribute to a great customer experience. We believe that the right mindset is just as important as experience.


You bring:

  • A B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electronics, Computer Science, Automation, or equivalent
  • Experience from the automotive industry, particularly in areas such as:

Software integration or testing

Diagnostics

Ownership of electronic components for production release

You are:

  • Happy with performing Functional testing and fault tracing using tools like: Wireshark, DSA, ParallellDiag, Canoe
  • Skilled in updating the Requirements in Carcom, SystemWeaver, Elektra
  • Having good knowledge on communication protocols like CAN, ETHERNET, FLEXRAY
  • Structured, organized, and comfortable working with multiple stakeholders
  • Communicative and enjoy collaborating across teams and with suppliers
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Curious and motivated to learn and develop
