Job Description

At the Vitrolife Group, we work every day to unlock the full potential of science and technology to reduce the barriers towards building a family. Together we help our customers and their patients to fulfill the dream of having a baby.

About the role

As a Software Quality Assurance Specialist at Vitrolife, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our IVF-related software products, which integrate closely with advanced hardware. You will take ownership of manual verification and validation activities, working hands-on with complex systems to confirm compliance with both product requirements and regulatory standards. Through collaboration with cross-functional teams, you will identify issues early, produce clear documentation, and contribute to continuous process improvements. This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact on the safety and effectiveness of solutions that help people realize their dreams of becoming parents.

Your impact

  • Perform manual verification and validation of software in medical devices and stand-alone software products for IVF-related applications.

  • Read, understand and derive test cases from requirements specifications.

  • Identify opportunities for test automation together with our software test automation engineer and develop automated tests when needed.

  • Ensure quality and compliance of complex medical device software across the entire lifecycle—starting with clear requirements, followed by thorough test planning, execution, and comprehensive documentation. Quality assurance is embedded from the very beginning, ensuring each phase supports regulatory and product standards.

  • Identify and report defects, working closely with developers, product owners, and UX designers.

  • Mentor and guide team members in best quality assurance practices.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or equivalent.

  • 3+ years of software quality assurance experience, preferably with hardware integration; experience in medical/laboratory software is a plus.

  • Strong knowledge of manual testing, creating and executing test cases, and defect tracking.

  • Interest in test automation; experience with Gherkin or TestComplete is a bonus.

  • Interest in responsible application of AI solutions to automate parts of testing.

  • Familiarity with Jira test management tools (e.g. Xray).

  • Experience in regulated environments (such as medical or financial sectors) is an advantage.

  • Proficiency in English; Danish proficiency is a plus

Who you are

  • Detail-oriented and organized, with a strong sense of responsibility.

  • Excellent communicator with the ability to document findings clearly and collaborate across teams.

  • Analytical mindset, capable of problem-solving and adapting to new situations.

  • Able to work both independently and as part of a diverse team.

Success in this role means

  • Manual testing is executed thoroughly, and documentation is always clear, complete, and compliant.

  • There is a clear strategy on what needs to be tested manually and what should be automated.

  • Issues and risks are identified early and communicated effectively to relevant stakeholders.

  • Test processes and procedures are continuously improved.

  • You contribute positively to a collaborative and quality-focused team culture.
