Principal Engineer, Software Engineering

The Manufacturing Diagnostics Engineering team delivers next-generation software application enhancements and new products for a changing world. Working at the cutting edge, we design and develop factory test software automation for Dell’s Core PowerEdge, AI/ML, and Storage products — all with the most advanced technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and the collaboration of internal and external partners.

As a Software Principal Engineer, you will develop advanced modules, optimize performance, and contribute to architectural choices. You will collaborate across teams to deliver robust, secure solutions.

Essential Requirements

• 8+ years of related experience
• Advanced coding and debugging in core languages/frameworks (Python, C++, C#).
• Test Process performance tuning and optimization experience.
• Knowledge of API integration from various sources and development of internal APIs.
• Ability to deliver high-quality solutions across teams.

Desirable Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Strong Enterprise hardware/firmware interoperability knowledge.

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary range for this position is $178,000 to 231,000.
