Software Manager - positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Long Beach, California). Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned worksite. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance from the worksite. Lead a team of software engineers delivering next generation embedded automotive software. Design and lead a development process that yields end products with high quality, high reliability, complete test coverage, and high traceability. Manage product and task priority, delivery schedules, and sprint planning. Design abstractions and APIs for a variety of core platform services, including but not limited to: diagnostics, messaging, and logging. Develop portable and extensible firmware according to best practices and MISRA-C. Identify build vs buy tradeoffs with respect to development tooling and integration. Verify and profile system behavior with unit testing and other validation methods. Document deliverables with structural and behavioral requirement documentation.

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Systems Engineering Technology or a related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. 4 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Developing embedded software using Embedded C. 2. Experience developing tools and test scripts with Python. 3. Build systems using Make or Bazel. 4. Using a debugger (DB) to diagnose and correct issues in both target hardware environments (TAG connected) and host environments. 3 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Developing software requirements in the Jama requirements management system. 2. Developing sprint plans in Jira. 3. Developing custom tools in Python to generate embedded C code.
We are offering a salary of $202,294.80 - $241,297.68/yr.
