SIE-2 Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and have
at least six (6) years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing, configuring,
upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous
operating system environment.
OR
The individual shall have five (5) years full time Computer Science directly related work
that can be substituted for a degree and have six (6) years of demonstrable experience
with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting
COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.
Position Required Skills:
- Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux suite of tools
- Experience developing scripts using Bash/Python to automate administrative tasks and workflows
- Experience performing Linux System Administration including installation, configuration, and
support of COTS/GOTS/FOSS products, packages, and libraries
- Experience sustaining mission applications deployed in a Linux environment
- Experience using Git for source control of system configurations
- Experience creating CI/CD pipelines/workflows using GitLab CI
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
Position Desired Skills:
- Experience installing, configuring, and managing package registry COTS products such as Sonatype, Nexus, PyPy, GitLab, JFrog Artifactory, etc.
- Understanding of software packaging frameworks (maven, pypi, npm, etc.) and their associated
artifacts
- Experience deploying containerized services under Kubernetes orchestration
- Experience with interacting/training external customers
- Experience with IaC principles and automation tools such as Ansible
