Software Firmware Engineer

This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining firmware solutions that drive the functionality and performance of hardware devices and embedded systems. The role works closely with hardware engineers, software developers, project managers, and other stakeholders to deliver robust and reliable firmware products. The role involves managing the entire firmware development lifecycle, from design and coding to testing and deployment.
Responsibilities
Preparation and creation of instructional technical manuscripts for firmware operation.
Manages resources to complete programming projects, and designs detailed plans to ensure firmware is functioning properly.
Works with multiple project teams of other software firmware engineers and internal and outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of design and development for complex products and platforms, including solution design, analysis, coding, testing, and integration.
Expands relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on firmware design and development.
Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with systems design and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.
Manages project meetings, schedules, milestones and delivery, including managing vendors and manufacturing partners to achieve teams goals.
Fosters collaboration between software firmware engineers, hardware engineers, software developers, and other stakeholders to achieve seamless integration of firmware with hardware and software components.
Stays updated with industry trends and emerging technologies related to firmware development, ensuring the team remains innovative and competitive.
Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.
Education & Experience Recommended
Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
7-10 years of job-related experience preferably in firmware development, or a related field.

The pay range for this role is$93,400to$143,800USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
