Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform software check out and commissioning for converting roll machines

  • Maintain and service customer production equipment and systems according to Valmet service procedures and safety processes

  • Set up machinery and provide prompt assistance to solve technical issues during testing phase and related to processes, machinery or tools at customer’s site or remotely

  • Carry out processes checks and quality control to improve product quality and propose improvement solutions to the customer

  • Perform scheduled maintenance on customer installations to ensure and optimise equipment performance

  • Proactively evaluate and suggest spare parts or improvements to the customer for equipment update

  • Carry out training to the customer’s site or in-house

  • Collaborate with the technical department for programming software and improve technical solutions

  • Ensure the achievement of predefined objectives guaranteeing customer satisfaction within the agreed timeline

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Technical school diploma or Degree in Electronic, Software, Automation, Informatics or similar fields

  • 2-3 years of experience as Software Technician in manufacturing industry, experience in converting industry is a plus

  • Experience with Controls Engineering/PLC/HMI programming/Safety

  • Experience with Siemens S7, Tia Portal (especially CPU Siemens 1500-TF); Rockwell RSLogix 5000, Siemens WinCC, SIMATIC WinCC Unified (JavaScript)

  • Proficiency with MS Office 365, SAP and 2D-3D CAD

  • Structured approach to complete tasks accordingly to targets and schedule

  • Structured and systematic approach to execute given tasks;

  • Strong skills in complex troubleshooting

  • Service orientation

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and proactive approach to work

  • Respect for quality standards and safety procedures

  • Strong work ethic

  • Availability and willingness to travel

  • Fluent in English and Italian
