We are looking for a strong and experienced Java/J2EE developer who will perform both as an individual contributor in Openreach IT. This individual will perform new development as well as support enhancements to a complex business application. Successful candidates need to possess deep hands on technical expertise in building large scale enterprise application and databases using technologies like Java/J2EE, Oracle RDBMS, Web services and XML. Prior experience in telecom domain would be additional advantage.
• To analyze problems and propose solutions backed by analysis and sound reasoning.
• Prepare technical specification document based on functional specifications document prepared by functional designer.
• To work with wider team and contribute to the technical solution.
• To work with Leads and colleagues across BT and Vendors to ensure programs/projects are successful and integrated with other programs taking place across the company.
• To ensure the appropriate change control processes are established.
• To conduct regular project reviews and implement corrective actions.
• Enhance efficiency of dev/test/release process - develop tools, frameworks as required
• At least 4+ years of experience in Core Java
• Knowledge of RDBMS and experience in writing DDL, DML and PL/SQL packages.
• Experience on Weblogic/WebSphere
• Experience on XML, MQ and web-services
• Experience in application frameworks like Spring.
• Experience in AGILE methodology of development
• Experience in product development environments and knowledge of tools such as Subversion etc.
• Adopt new and emerging technologies to provide solutions to client needs
• Knowledge of algorithms & data structures.
• Excellent programming and debugging skills
• Experience in developing server-side solutions using component frameworks
• Ability to quickly gather requirements, explore multiple approaches and suggest optimal solutions
• Proven analytical & problem-solving skills
• Enhance efficiency of dev/test/release process - develop tools, frameworks as required.
• Experience in use of continuous integration and automated code quality tools like CheckStyle, Junit etc.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Good communication and stakeholder collaboration
