Accountabilities

• Provide technical leadership across engineering teams while remaining sufficiently hands-on to guide complex technical decisions and architectural direction.
• Design and scale high-performance systems using appropriate patterns for distributed architectures, APIs, microservices, event-driven systems, and asynchronous processing.
• Own and influence technology strategy, architectural decisions, engineering standards, and technology adoption while balancing scalability, performance, security, reliability, maintainability, and delivery speed.
• Translate business and product requirements into clear technical plans, architecture, milestones, and execution strategies.
• Champion AI-first software development by integrating LLMs and AI-powered tools into requirements analysis, architecture, coding, modernization, testing, debugging, documentation, reviews, and knowledge discovery.
• Establish responsible AI engineering practices that maintain high standards for code quality, security, privacy, reliability, and architectural integrity.
• Identify opportunities for AI, automation, and emerging technologies to improve developer productivity, engineering velocity, software quality, and operational efficiency.
• Lead, mentor, and develop engineers while fostering ownership, accountability, continuous learning, collaboration, and technical excellence.
• Support hiring, team building, performance management, career development, and succession planning.
• Drive predictable, high-quality delivery through strong engineering practices covering testing, Git, CI/CD, code reviews, release management, and Agile/Scrum execution.
• Establish meaningful engineering metrics and remove technical, organizational, and process bottlenecks affecting productivity, reliability, and delivery.
• Partner with Product, Design, Architecture, DevOps, Security, Data, and other engineering teams to deliver high-impact products and capabilities.
• Communicate technical decisions, risks, dependencies, trade-offs, and delivery plans effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Take ownership of ambiguous and complex challenges while balancing immediate product priorities with long-term engineering and architectural investments.

Requirements

• 8+ years of strong software engineering experience, including demonstrated technical leadership and experience managing engineering teams or major technical initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture, system design, scalability, distributed systems, APIs, microservices, performance optimization, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with modern web and software technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Redux, Next.js, Java, PHP, Go, Python, Node.js, or equivalent technologies.
• Familiarity with engineering practices and tools including unit testing, automated testing, Git, CI/CD, and Jenkins.
• Experience with cloud-native and infrastructure technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, API gateways, CDNs, Elasticsearch, or comparable platforms.
• Understanding of frontend architectures including SPAs and PWAs; React Native experience is a plus.
• Exposure to messaging and streaming technologies such as Kafka or similar queueing platforms.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments and continuously improving engineering execution.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineers while maintaining strong technical credibility and sound architectural judgment.
• Excellent analytical, conceptual, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities, with a strong ownership mindset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to create clear technical documentation and explain complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Strong curiosity, adaptability, and willingness to learn unfamiliar technologies and approaches.
• A builder's mindset, with the ability to dive deeply into complex technical problems while empowering teams to solve problems independently.
• Strong interest in AI, automation, developer productivity, and improving the overall engineering experience.
• Familiarity with product analytics tools such as GTM or Hotjar is beneficial, while knowledge of Figma, Sketch, or similar design collaboration tools is a plus.
