About the Software Team in the Philippines

Software is becoming an ever-bigger part of our products at Dyson. Connectivity, advanced User Interfaces, and Artificial Intelligence are part of the solutions for most of our products.

We are looking to onboard a passionate and talented Software Engineering Manager to join us at our campus in the Philippines. In this role, you will lead and mentor a team of embedded software engineers, driving the development and delivery of high-quality software solutions for Dyson’s beauty products. You will work closely with global engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure software is delivered on time, on quality, on spec, and on cost.

About the Role

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of embedded software engineers and technical leads.
  • Create a high-performing team culture focused on collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Support career development, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives.

Delivery

  • Own the successful delivery of embedded software solutions for Dyson’s beauty products.
  • Plan, prioritize, and coordinate team activities to ensure project milestones and delivery commitments are met.
  • Manage risks, dependencies, and issues, escalating where appropriate.

Collaboration

  • Build strong relationships with global software teams, hardware engineers, product owners, and test teams.
  • Work cross-functionally to align software deliverables with product and business objectives.
  • Support effective communication between local and global teams.

Communication

  • Provide clear and timely updates on project status, risks, and delivery progress to stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Translate technical concepts into clear business-focused messages for non-technical audiences when required.

Technical Leadership

  • Guide software architecture, design, and implementation activities across the team.
  • Promote engineering best practices including code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, version control, and software quality standards.
  • Support the resolution of complex technical issues and provide technical mentoring where needed.

Talent

  • Support hiring, onboarding, development, and retention of high-performing software engineering talent.
  • Identify skills gaps and work with leadership to build team capabilities.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive improvements in engineering processes, toolchains, and ways of working.
  • Foster a culture of learning, innovation, and operational excellence.

About You

  • 3–5+ years of people leadership experience managing software engineering teams.
  • 8–10+ years of embedded software development experience using C/C++.
  • Strong experience developing software in both bare metal and RTOS environments.
  • Proven experience delivering production-quality embedded software products.
  • Solid understanding of modern Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) practices including Agile methodologies, CI/CD, automated testing, version control, and code review processes.
  • Experience managing software development activities within Agile frameworks using tools such as Jira.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects and schedules.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Fluent in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in consumer electronics, IoT, or connected device development.
  • Expertise in IoT, motor control, and sensor control software.
  • Knowledge of software build systems, release management, and configuration management tools.
  • Experience working within globally distributed engineering teams.
