About us
We own and develop the Dyson Link Smart home app, which is at the forefront of Dyson's IoT experience. We are proud of what we have built so far; we have an App Store and Google Play rating of 4.5 and 4.3 stars respectively, we have more than 1 million active users worldwide and our IoT platform has over 3 million connected Dyson machines. We have huge ambition to grow this platform and as we connect more machines from more categories the challenge is significant.
About the role
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead one of our mobile app teams at Dyson. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a balance of technical excellence, team development, and stakeholder management.
You will be responsible for driving the delivery of high-quality mobile experiences while building and mentoring a high-performing engineering team. You are equally comfortable contributing to technical discussions, guiding architecture decisions, and working closely with cross-functional partners to deliver impact.
Our Tech
Our mobile apps are built using modern native technologies across Android and iOS, with a strong emphasis on scalability, modular architecture, and maintainability.
On Android, we use Kotlin with MVVM architecture, Jetpack libraries, and coroutines for asynchronous programming. On iOS, we follow modern Swift-based development practices with well-defined architectural patterns.
We integrate with cloud services using robust networking layers and work closely with IoT platforms to deliver seamless connected experiences.
Our teams place a strong emphasis on testing, code quality, and continuous improvement of our development practices and tooling.

Leading and mentoring a team of mobile engineers, supporting their growth, performance, and career development
Driving delivery of features and improvements, ensuring high standards of quality, scalability, and reliability
Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders including product, design, QA, and engineering teams across cloud and embedded domains
Owning technical direction and contributing to architecture and design decisions
Remaining hands-on where needed, contributing to code, reviews, and problem-solving
Balancing short-term delivery needs with long-term technical health and maintainability
Establishing and improving engineering processes, practices, and team ways of working
Communicating effectively with stakeholders to align on priorities, timelines, and outcomes
About you
You have strong experience in native mobile development (Android and/or iOS), with a solid understanding of modern architectures and best practices
You have experience leading or mentoring engineers, with a focus on building high-performing, collaborative teams
You are comfortable operating across both technical and people leadership responsibilities
You have experience working with cross-functional stakeholders and aligning engineering work with product goals
You bring a pragmatic approach to delivery, balancing speed with quality and long-term sustainability
You have strong problem-solving skills and a track record of delivering complex features or systems
You are passionate about engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and team culture

Dyson solves real-world problems and creates better products through the application of engineering, science, design and creativity. It is a family-owned, global technology company, founded by Sir James Dyson who remains at the helm alongside his son Jake.
Since inventing the first cyclonic bagless vacuum cleaner, the DC01, Dyson has consistently invested in research and development to improve its products and technologies radically. Dyson offers products across a growing range of areas: floorcare, air purification, robotics, haircare including formulations, lighting, hand drying, and most recently audio. Dyson continues to expand into new areas.
Today, Dyson sells products in more than 80 markets, has 450 Dyson stores worldwide and is available in all major technology and beauty retailers. Dyson has global headquarters in Singapore and major technology campuses in Singapore, the UK, Malaysia, and the Philippines. Its global team of engineers, scientists and software developers are focused on developing technology-enabled products which work better and which people love to use. Key areas of focus have included high-speed electric digital motors, sensing and vision systems, robotics, machine learning and aerodynamics.
Beyond products, to encourage an inventive future, Dyson is also inspiring the next generation of engineers and inventors through the Dyson Institute of Engineering and Technology, the James Dyson Foundation and the James Dyson Award.
The Dyson family applies its problem-solving approach in other fields, and established Dyson Farming in 2012. It is one of the largest farming businesses in the UK, extending to 36,000 acres across Lincolnshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and Somerset. It is a family-owned enterprise unlike any other, focussed on long-term investment in British farming and the countryside to grow tasty and nutritious food.
