About the Role

As ahands-on Software Engineering Lead ,you’lllead a small team while actively contributing to delivery—roughly60%engineering and40% people/delivery leadership You’llown day-to-day execution, coach engineers, and partner with stakeholders, working alongside aPrincipal Engineer who sets overall technical direction.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day delivery for a small engineering team across multiple initiatives.

  • Design, build, andmaintainbackend services in C#/.NET

  • Build and evolve frontend features using Angularand TypeScript

  • Write clean, testable, maintainable code and set a high bar for engineering quality.

  • Champion strong development practicesincludingcode review, pair programming, and TDD

  • Operate and improve services hosted on AWS, including reliability and performance.

  • Contribute to and improve CI/CDpipelines and deployment workflows.

  • Translate requirements into clear technical tasks using a spec-drivenapproach.

  • Mentor and line-manage engineers (~5), supporting growth and career development.

  • Communicate progress, risks, and timelines clearly to product and business stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years’ professional software engineering experience.

  • Strong, recent hands-on experience with C#/.NET

  • Strong, recent hands-on experience with Angularand TypeScript

  • Practical experience building and running workloads on AWS

  • Experience working with CI/CDpipelines and modern source control workflows (e.g., GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jenkins).

  • Comfortable with TDD, code review, and collaborative development practices.

  • Proven experience leading, mentoring, or line-managing engineers.

  • Strongdeliveryownership: planning,prioritisation, and keeping work on track.

  • Clear stakeholder communication, including progress updates and risk management.

  • A pragmatic, early-adopter mindset toward AI-assisted development toolsto improve quality and speed.
