Qargo is a cloud-based (SaaS) Transport Management Platform. We are a scale-up based in London and Ghent (Belgium), rapidly expanding across Europe. The platform is an 'all-in-one system', handling everything from initial order entry to final invoicing. It optimises planning and has a built-in AI feature that automates lengthy manual tasks. Qargo is designed to help modern logistics operations run more efficiently, while increasing profitability and sustainability.
We're looking for a Software Engineering Intern to join our team in Ghent If you're looking to get real hands-on experience in a fast-moving scale-up where your work actually matters from day one, this is the place for you!
This internship is your chance to work on a real product used by thousands of people in the logistics industry — not a sandbox project or a tutorial. You'll be embedded in our engineering team, working with modern technologies and supported by experienced engineers who are genuinely invested in your growth. Whether you're drawn to back-end, front-end, cloud, data engineering, or machine learning, we'll work with you to shape an experience that fits your interests and ambitions.
Work on real features in a production-grade codebase, using modern technologies like Python, Django, GraphQL, Kubernetes, React, and React Native
Collaborate with the engineering team on meaningful projects that have a direct impact on our customers and product.
Learn from experienced engineers who are eager to mentor, give feedback, and support your development throughout the internship.
Contribute to Qargo's growth during an exciting phase of our scale-up journey, and help shape the way we build things.
Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a related field
Available for a minimum internship duration of 8 weeks
Currently residing in Belgium and eligible to complete an internship in Belgium.
Curious and driven — you enjoy solving problems and aren't afraid to dig into something you don't fully understand yet.
Some familiarity with at least one programming language (Python, JavaScript, or similar) — you don't need to know our full stack, but you should be comfortable writing code.
A user-first mindset — you care about building things that actually work well for people, not just things that look good on paper.
A collaborative attitude — you're open, communicative, and enjoy learning from and working with others.
A growth mindset and self-starter energy — you take initiative, ask questions, and are hungry to keep improving.
Real ownership and impact from day one — your work will continuously ship and be used by real customers, helping you learn how customer feedback cycles work.
The chance to experience the unique energy of a fast-scaling start-up, where transparency and candour are core values and things move fast.
A flexible and supportive work environment that encourages curiosity, learning, and experimentation.
Hands-on experience with modern, production-grade technologies — Python, Django, GraphQL, Kubernetes, React, React Native, and Google Cloud.
Mentorship from a highly skilled engineering team invested in your growth and development.
A green office with a great atmosphere in Ghent, with lots of team initiatives — board game nights, themed lunches, sports activities, and more.
