We're looking for a curious and motivated engineering intern to join the Marlo Marketplace platform team. You don't need to know everything - you need to be eager to learn, comfortable asking questions, and excited about building real features that reach real users. You'll work across a modern full-stack environment with cloud infrastructure, APIs, and e-commerce integrations.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Building and maintaining REST API endpoints in **Python (FastAPI)** and **TypeScript (Node.js)**
• Writing Lambda functions deployed on **AWS Serverless** infrastructure
• Working with **PostgreSQL** and **MongoDB** databases
• Integrating with third-party services like **Stripe**, **CommerceTools**, and shipping/fulfillment APIs
• Writing clean, typed code with proper validation and error handling
• Supporting CI/CD pipelines and reading build/deploy logs to debug issues

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

We care more about your “intent to learn” than a perfect resume. If you check most of these boxes, apply.

Good to have some exposure to:

• Python or TypeScript/JavaScript (coursework, personal projects, or tutorials count)
• Basic understanding of REST APIs — what a GET/POST request is, what JSON looks like
• Familiarity with Git — committing, branching, pushing code
• Any database — SQL or NoSQL (even from a class)
• General awareness of cloud concepts (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

We'll teach you:

• Our specific stack (FastAPI, Serverless Framework, CommerceTools, Stripe)
• AWS Lambda, SNS, SES patterns
• How e-commerce platforms and marketplace architectures work
• Code review practices and PR workflow
• How to read production logs and debug real issues

You're a Good Fit If You:

• Can explain what you've built, even if it's small
• Google things you don't know and figure them out
• Write readable code and care about naming things well
• Ask for help before going in circles for too long
• Are comfortable with ambiguity and iterating quickly

Nice to Have (Bonus, Not Required)

• Any exposure to TypeScript or async Python
• Familiarity with Docker
• Experience with any ORM (SQLAlchemy, Prisma, etc.)
• Having used Postman or similar to test an API
