Help build the platform behind the music industry
Songtradr is the world's largest B2B music technology company, providing end-to-end solutions across music licensing, rights management and direct-to-fan experiences. Through businesses including MassiveMusic and Bandcamp, Songtradr empowers music creators and enables global brands to connect with audiences through the power of music.
Behind this is a global platform operating at significant scale. Our systems process billions of requests every month, creating interesting engineering challenges across web applications, backend services, distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
Now we're bringing that engineering to Finland.
We're building a brand-new Center of Excellence in Helsinki, creating a rare opportunity to join one of its first engineering teams. You'll work across multiple products and platforms within the Songtradr portfolio – from enterprise music solutions to Bandcamp, one of the world's largest marketplaces for independent artists – while helping shape the ways of working and engineering culture of our new Helsinki organisation.
We're building the Engineering team in Helsinki and looking for Software Engineers at both mid and senior levels
Your strengths might be in frontend, backend or somewhere in between You don't need to fit neatly into one box – we're interested in strong engineers with different technical backgrounds who enjoy learning, collaborating and solving meaningful problems.
You'll work across products and platforms within Songtradr's global portfolio, building software used by millions of music fans, independent artists and businesses around the world.
Depending on your background and the team you join, your work could include:
Building and evolving production software across frontend applications, backend services and APIs
Taking ownership from technical design through development, testing and delivery
Solving challenges around performance, reliability, scalability and maintainability
Improving and modernizing established applications and systems
Collaborating with product, design and engineering colleagues across our global organisation
Contributing to engineering practices and exploring how AI-assisted development can help us build and deliver better software
We're not looking for everyone to have the same skill set. Some of our engineers will be deeply focused on the frontend, others on backend systems, and some will be comfortable working across the stack.
Our technology landscape varies across products and teams and continues to evolve as we grow. You won't be expected to work with everything below – depending on your background and the team you join, you could work with technologies such as:
Frontend
TypeScript & JavaScript
Vue
React
HTML, CSS & modern browser APIs
Component libraries & design systems
Backend & Platform
Node.js & TypeScript
AWS & GCP
REST APIs, microservices & event-driven architectures
Distributed systems
SQL, NoSQL & S3
Docker & Linux
Ruby & .NET in parts of our established platform - previous experience is a plus
Across our engineering teams
Unit, integration & end-to-end testing
CI/CD and modern engineering practices
AI-assisted software development
Ideally, you'll bring:
Solid experience building and operating production software
Strong expertise in frontend, backend or fullstack development
Experience building maintainable applications, services and/or APIs
A strong quality mindset and experience with automated testing and modern software development practices
Curiosity to learn new technologies and solve problems beyond your immediate area of expertise
The ability to take ownership, collaborate across disciplines and deliver software end to end
Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development and an interest in how AI can improve engineering workflows
Strong communication and collaboration skills in an English-speaking, global engineering organisation
Depending on your focus, you might additionally bring deeper experience in areas such as frontend frameworks and user experience, cloud-native backend development, distributed systems, databases or infrastructure.
We don't expect you to tick every box. We're looking for engineers who enjoy solving problems, taking ownership and building software that lasts. You might have a clear frontend or backend specialization, or you might enjoy moving across the stack.
We're growing our engineering organisation in Helsinki, creating a rare opportunity to join at an early stage while working on established products at global scale.
We're hiring several Software Engineers as our teams grow during the autumn. Joining now means you'll get to be part of building the Helsinki organisation from its early days – helping shape how the local team works together while collaborating with established engineering teams around the world.
Our new office opens in September 2026 in Vallila, and we'll work in a flexible hybrid model where the team comes together a few days each week.
Salary: €4500-6500 per month, depending on experience and role
Equity: RSUs – real upside as the company continues to grow
Flexible hybrid working from our brand-new Helsinki office in Vallila
Growth: 15 hours per month dedicated to learning and professional development
Lead with Music. Our compass and our passion.
Perform as One Band. United by purpose and trust.
Own Your Voice. Listen deeply, speak honestly.
We're building our Helsinki engineering teams throughout the autumn and are already starting conversations with engineers who might want to join us.
Whether you're frontend-focused, backend-focused or somewhere in between, we'd love to hear from you. And if you don't tick every box? Apply anyway. We're building a complete team and are interested in different combinations of skills, experience and perspective.
Applications will be reviewed continuously.
