The primary focus of this role is to contribute to the development and evolution of enterprise-grade Investor Services applications, delivering roadmap features, technical improvements, and client-driven enhancements.

We are looking for a hands-on Java engineer who can quickly understand an established enterprise codebase and become productive with limited ramp-up time. The role covers both application development and integration activities with internal and external systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based enterprise applications and services.
  • Take ownership of roadmap features, enhancements, defects, and technical improvements from analysis through implementation.
  • Quickly understand existing application architecture, business logic, codebase, and integration patterns.
  • Develop and maintain REST APIs, services, messaging, and integrations with internal and external platforms.
  • Work with Java, Spring/Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, REST, JMS/ActiveMQ, and SQL-based technologies.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across application, database, middleware, and integration layers.
  • Contribute to application modernization, security remediation, dependency upgrades, and technical-debt reduction.
  • Deliver maintainable, testable, and secure code aligned with enterprise engineering standards.
  • Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, Professional Services, and other engineering teams on releases and client commitments.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of professional Java development experience, preferably with large-scale enterprise applications.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring/Spring Boot.
  • Solid knowledge of REST APIs and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL, ideally MSSQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar.
  • Experience with Hibernate/JPA or comparable persistence frameworks.
  • Experience working with established, complex enterprise codebases rather than only greenfield applications.
  • Good understanding of software design, debugging, performance, and application troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and modern software-development practices.
  • Ability to independently analyze existing functionality and deliver changes with limited supervision.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience with GitHub Copilot or other AI-assisted software-engineering tools.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with JMS, ActiveMQ, Apache Camel, or similar messaging and integration technologies.
  • Experience developing and maintaining microservices and integration services.
  • Experience with Tomcat, Docker/Kubernetes, and cloud environments such as Azure or AWS.
  • Experience with enterprise financial-services applications or other business-critical, transaction-oriented systems.
  • Knowledge of security remediation, dependency upgrades, vulnerability management, and secure development practices.
  • Exposure to SWIFT, ISO 20022, API gateways, ETL/data integration, or similar enterprise integration technologies.

Typical Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of professional software-engineering experience with significant hands-on Java development.
  • Experience maintaining and enhancing complex enterprise applications in a structured Agile delivery environment.
