Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our team on a long term contract basis. This remote role, based in the UK (with occasional travel to our UK office in Leatherhead, Surrey), offers an opportunity to play a key role in maintaining the stability, reliability and incremental improvement of our well-established software product. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software development and a passion for problem solving, ensuring the delivery of high quality software solutions that meet our clients' needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, support and enhance software applications in accordance with project requirements.
  • Design, write, optimise and amend Oracle PL/SQL, stored procedures, views and functions to support application functionality and reporting.
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications to resolve issues, optimise performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge with team members.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance development processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development using Oracle PL/SQL.
  • Knowledge or prior experience of using scripting skills; C#, Visual Basic alongside .Net Frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, release management and best practices.
  • Experience working under pressure to provide production and change management support for critical applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote environment.
