This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Software Engineer - NextJS in Brazil.

This role focuses on building and maintaining high-performance, scalable web applications using NextJS within a modern, cloud-driven environment.
You will contribute to mission-critical systems that support enterprise-grade clients across multiple industries.
The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and engineers.
You will be involved across the full development lifecycle, from planning and estimation to deployment and support.
The environment values clean, testable code, continuous improvement, and strong engineering ownership.
This is a fully remote opportunity, with working hours aligned to 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time (PST).
It is a contractor role based in Brazil, offering exposure to international projects and modern engineering practices.

Accountabilities:

• Participate in planning activities by reviewing requirements, defining technical approaches, and providing accurate development estimates based on designs and specifications.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance scalable web applications using NextJS and JavaScript while ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
• Own assigned deliverables end-to-end, proactively communicating risks, issues, and progress updates throughout the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with team members in design, implementation, testing, and deployment phases while contributing to a culture of code quality and peer review.
• Ensure software quality through unit testing, test-driven development practices, and continuous improvement of test coverage.
• Research and apply modern tools, frameworks, and development techniques to improve system performance and maintainability.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience working with JavaScript in production environments.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with NextJS and React-based development.
• Strong experience in building and integrating REST APIs and working with JSON data structures.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and query design.
• Experience using Git for version control and collaboration in team-based development workflows.
• Familiarity with package managers such as npm and modern frontend build tools.
• Experience or strong understanding of test-driven development or behavior-driven development practices.
• Strong communication skills, collaborative mindset, and ability to work independently in remote environments.
