The Software Engineering Co-op is responsible for the creation, enhancement, development, deployment, and maintenance of software solutions that will shape the future of the security industry.

Primary responsibilities will be developing services and backend support of web applications for LenelS2’s software security products.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement new product features for our security products.
• Participate in the full life cycle of development from specification and design through implementation, documentation, testing, and support.
• Participate in receiving and giving peer software code reviews.
• Partner with Scrum team members on delivering Kanban/Sprint commitments.
• Work with senior engineers, security engineers, technical writers, and product owners to deliver features.
• Participate in peer reviews to both share and receive feedback.

Required Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field
• 3.0 or higher GPA
• Applicant must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Preferred Qualifications

• Preference is being given to the candidate from Rochester Institute of Technology. This co-op is a partnership between Rochester Institute of Technology and their career center.
• Relocation is not provided for RIT students
• You have a strong computer science background.
• You have a desire to continuously improve and grow as an engineer.
• Experience programming in Java with Spring Framework.
• Experience programming UI with any common JavaScript framework Vue.js/React/Angular.
• Enthusiasm for working in a collaborative team environment, including a willingness to seek and offer help.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
