About the Role

Join the team behind MyEvolv, Netsmart's industry-leading electronic health record (EHR) platform supporting behavioral health and human services organizations. As a Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and support innovative software solutions that help healthcare providers deliver better outcomes for the communities they serve.

In this role, you'll collaborate with product managers, architects, and fellow engineers to build scalable, high-quality applications using .NET, C#, and SQL. You'll gain exposure to cloud technologies, healthcare workflows, and modern software development practices while contributing to products that make a meaningful impact across the healthcare industry.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Design, develop, and maintain software solutions primarily using C#, .NET, and SQL technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business and customer requirements into technical solutions.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and high-quality code that follows engineering standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot application, database, and integration issues through debugging and root cause analysis.
  • Develop and execute automated and manual tests to ensure software quality, reliability, and performance.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, technical design discussions, and peer code reviews.
  • Build knowledge of clinical and financial healthcare workflows and apply that expertise to product development.
  • Identify opportunities to improve application performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.
  • Research and adopt new technologies, tools, and engineering practices that improve team effectiveness and product quality.
  • Gradually take ownership of features, enhancements, and components as technical expertise grows.
  • Participate in a rotational on-call schedule after onboarding and training.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Experience developing applications using C# and the Microsoft .NET platform through professional experience, internships, co-ops, academic projects, or personal projects.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming principles and software development fundamentals.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, relational databases, data modeling, and SQL development.
  • Understanding of cloud-based SaaS application architectures.
  • Familiarity with APIs, integrations, and modern software development practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to independently learn new technologies and apply them effectively.
  • Ability to consistently deliver high-quality work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and cloud-native application development.
  • Experience with ASP.NET, REST APIs, or distributed application architecture.
  • Exposure to CI/CD practices, automated testing, and DevOps tools.
  • Previous internship or experience with a software company, SaaS organization, or healthcare technology company.
  • Experience working in healthcare, behavioral health, or human services technology environments.
